I think it's just one of the mysteries of 40k honestly, it's really odd, I like the Imperial Fists also, but the Templars are my favorite overall, It's really weird, and its the same way with the Crimson Fists, people like them as much as they seem to like the Imperial Fists, which I find odd, but maybe its just some of the people I know
I think it's just the overlal charisma you can find in their oath. How they're sworn to melee combat, the never ending crusade against the enemies of the Imperium. They have more backstory and depth, you know? Also their initiation and the fact they're so unorthodox comparing to other chapters.
