Haven't read it but from what I've gathered so far the Templars loose a lot of their fluff and flavor to the Fists in that codex supplement. I refuse to call anything from Ward canon. The Black Templars 4th Edition codex is canon, that's it. We never had librarians, since we despise ALL PSYKERS. We tolerate certain types (astropaths, navigators, that sort of things) but if they show signs of weakness they get purged. It pains me to read through that link... EDIT: It is too easy of me to call everything Matt Ward makes bullshit. He makes fine books that are competitive and relatively well-balanced. However, he should stay the fuck away from fluff and let people who know their stuff write the epic stories of badassery we want.
Not exactly. They're still about, albeit with a few odd changes thanks to the 6th edition codex. It's just that their parent chapter now shares a good deal of their zeal, crusading nature and most basic aspects. Admittedly, it is slightly suspicious they were given these traits and the words "Black Templars" never appear once, even when mentioning their successors. Also, the fluff team behind the book seemed to be trying to avoid the subject of the Imperial Fists affinity for siege warfare in any way it could. The one time it does show up and is given any serious focus is in their Planetstrike stratagems. Not to derail the thread, if this is to be discussed then it can be done elsewhere, but may I ask if you have seen the constant buffs his forces are given via erratas? What happened to the Plasma Siphon is one of the more infamous examples of his work.
Ward is far... far.. worse than Horus... Ward is the most dangerous god of chaos... forget the others...
I thought whoever was in charge of choosing a chapter of 2 marines to be flanking an Inquisitor at the end of Spacemarine was on crack and doing shrooms...he was flanked by 2 Black Templar lol.
