im pretty bummed the Black Templars didnt make it as a playable race. I'm all about chaos and Black Templars is one of the very few loyalist chapters i still like. I dont even care for any of the ones announced. On the plus side that means ill have nothing to distract me from spreading the Primordial Truth on EC.
Lets hope the dev will add all the races to the game so everyone can be eventualy happy I definetly would not mind seeing black templars in the game but I would also love to see so many other factions.
even though i dont care for the given SM chapters i dont want them to add more... I'd rather have the least amount of different chapters so that it feels like a war against a whole army, not a bunch of different squads from different chapters. You like Grey Knights I assume, so imagine running down a mountain in their armor alongside 100 battle brothers and the vehicles of your chapter to meet the foe a the bottom of the mountain, a horde of blood red World Eaters!!! Now imagine you, a Grey Knight running down a mountain alongside other Grey Knights... five of them to be exact... and some ultramarines... some blood ravens... some salamanders.. some blood angels, iron fists, black templars, mantis warriors, carcharodons, and a ton of other chapter colors you dont even recognize.... to meet your foe at the bottom of the mountain, a horde of !!!..... um... theres so many colors and theyre too far away to really tell what it is... are those loyalists down there? It's hard to tell but those colors look like my frien- oh wait no cuz i dont think theyre fighting each other. or maybe my allies just got there first? it looks like they're outnumbering the other foes so ill lead my men to the other side and flank- oh wait crap those are bad guys too....
I NEED the BT to be in this game. There's no other chapter I want to be. Earlier, ppl were talking about the BT being rolled into the new codex and complaining about the rules, but I don't get why. Sure we lost the vows and Fearless in CC, but I think our chapter tactics are fairly badass and we still get the Emperor's Champion and Crusader Squads. What I find unforgivable is how whoever wrote our fluff tried to reign us in and shit on us. It says we're the only chapter that worships the Emperor despite how there are several novels that have obscure chapters worshipping him as well as the Blood Angels. Then there's the fact that our High Chaplain, Grimaldus, pretty much said we don't worship the Emperor in his novella, Blood and Fire. On top of that heresy, they tried to take away our hatred of witches and numbers. They said that we don't mind psykers unless they're renegade ones and we pretty much fap to navigators. Then they said we only have 10 Black Swords and that every crusade has one which means the bastard tried to limit us to 10 crusades despite how, again in Blood and Fire, Grimaldus mentions several dozen crusades currently active aside from his on Armageddon. I don't mind being rolled in to the codex and I don't mind the crunch, but the disregard of established fluff, when there's no reason at all to change what it's been is unforgivable. I refuse to accept any of it that contradicts previous and better fluff. With my tirade concluded...BT are awesome.
Although this is new to me i have to agree with your hatred to changing established fluff. Theres a reason everyone hates matt ward, idk why no one at gw has gotten it yet. (pst! its really his beard!)
I didn't think any son of Dorn worships the Emperor as a god... that's the Word Bearer nonsense that essentially started the Heresy. The Excoriators (a successor of the Fists) hate the Ecclesiarchy and their worshiping of the Emperor as a deity. While they revere him as more than a man, they do not think he is a god. And while I love the Templars, I'd much rather the Fists be in the game because they are one of the original Legions. The Templars come from the Fists, so it'd be easier to say that a Fist could be everything a Templar could be than saying the same thing vice-versa. Also, all the announced chapters are founding Legions, so for the sake of continuity it'd be better for the Fists to be in over the Templars.
First of all, the color scheme is simple and effective. There's a melee focus, with Emperor's Champion. A fierce hatred of psykers (Don't care what the new codex says. Any psyker that gets near me gets slaughtered) An unusual way of training scouts/neophytes (On the frontlines, not as scouts. Trial by fire, as they say) First chapter to discover and use the Land Raider Crusader. CHAINS everywhere! Brothers, stand fast against the fluff of the Codex: Space Marines! We are the Black Templars, remember that!
My truest of brothers, you are a fine addition to the chapter indeed. May your achievements be written down in the Halls of Glory on the Eternal Crusader once you take your place at the Emperor's side.
