Bigga vial on Painboy - what does it do?

There is an unlock in the Painboy tree that says Bigga vial.

The tooltip just says it's a bigger vial....what exactly does it do.

It is equippable over the normal vial for the syringe. I still have the exact same number of vials and it seems to do the same thing as before - heal people. Anyone know what this upgrade does? Does it add a heal over time or a buff?

I assumed that it applies a bigger DOT in combat.

Does the regular one apply a DoT?
It seemed like it just did an instant heal.

    Yes. Quite a good one.

I do better in melee with a painboy than a slugga boy.

Of all the slugger weapons I've been getting the most utility out of the basic choppa since this last patch. It still swings at a reasonable speed, allowing me to switch up my attacks as necessary.

Wait, that improves the melee DoT attack damage?

I started using the Pain Dok (vet) class, with the iron gob and the heavy armor.

Dang, he is tough. I tried using Stormboy nob with armor and gob and a hot wind would blow him over. He basically dies within a swing animation from a half dozen boltgun shots.

Part of it is I'm finding that in melee, you really can't be offensive. Using offensive strikes is a good way to get stuck in clangs or stunlocked by d bashes. Meanwhile you get exploded by boltguns.

I'm finding the only way to win in melee is by using d bash and using a quick fast attack during the brief stun window before going back to d bash. Works well with the poison dot from the syringe.

  9. The Big Vial replaces the default vial in your consumable slot, right? If so, I doubt it'd change how the poison on your dok's tools work... That's probably what the "needle" mods are for.

I haven't unlocked them yet, but if I were to guess, the Big Vial would give some combat buff to people you heal, like the various Narthecium vials Apoths can equip.
  10. it just has a longer healing over time duration
