I don't think that's correct, there were a few places where they said Alpha was late 2014 and Beta early 2015 (Both in the forums and in the AMA).
Well... I remember seeing ESO gameplay during their Beta... Bethesda ( or their off-shoot company rather ) were pissed... All you had to do was play the game, stfu, and play the game... record nothing, play the game... 40k, in theory, shouldn't have that problem. At least i hope. You'd imagine any ( yes any... ) 40k fan on these forums wouldn't want to put the title in jeopardy.
Bethesda has a VERY large QA Team hence why they didn't really need many people for mechanics testing. It's mostly done, their Beta is just to gauge player reaction to the experience.
I don't wanna rag on ESO too much... but hell, people have almost been waiting for an Elder Scrolls MMO as long as a 40k MMO. This IP alone makes me question... far too much on why there wasn't one long ago.
Everything I'd read from them seemed like it involved very ambitious beta/release dates. I hope you're right.
