Well the rumour has it that Sanguinus cracked the armour of Horus for the Emperors attack to take affect, Oll simply showed the Emperor that Horus had all but died and Chaos now controlled his favorite son.
ARE YOU SERIOUS ? El Jonson = the worse, Ferrus Manus = 2nd worse, lorgar = 3rd worse in the poll Sanguinius and Russ are run away leaders, and it is a close call.. but because of his diplomacy, freindlyness,Gracefullness, charm, love, Leman Russ is good but has little of these qualities Sanguinius is a better primarch than Russ the thing is there is not much seperating most of the Primarchs they are all really good
I respect your opinion, but in my point of view Ferrus Manus is the best, I love how he carried himself and I have the most respect for him his only down fall was caring about Fulgrim to much and it got him "killed" my 2nd favorite is El' Lion I mean come on he knocked out Russ with one hit. What's not to love?
They retcon the lore of the final battle so frequently and often that it's lost it's impact, it's meaning and has become really bland and anti-climatic. I've mostly washed my hands of the whole thing. That said Sang is an important guy he's responsible for Angrons damnation and a book about him holding the Eternity Gate (Gate of Eternity?) would be brilliant.
I really hope they change the lore from the Eternity Gate, when Sanguinius came face-to-face with Ka'Bandha in 'Fear to Tread' it seemed that Sanguinius completely overpowered/out skilled him after he awoke from his 'physic coma'. I feel it really wont have the affect it did in the old lore with Sanguinius facing the Daemon again, we know now that he defeated Ka'Bandha with some ease on Signus. I'm really hoping they replace him with Angron in his now Daemonic form. Having Sanguinius breaking Angron over his knee at the Eternity gate and sending him back to the warp would be great, plus I keep reading how powerful Sanguinius is and how Lorgar saved Angron because he was the only one would have a chance against Sanguinius.
Speaking of the old lore about the emperor and horus, I love the old way they killed each other, if I remember it right it went something like this, Horus says let us embrace father and impaled the emperor with a spear and then the emperor stabs horus with a down thrust to the chest of horus. by the way if any one cares watch Excalibur (1981) . Its so close to the battle of the emperor and horus its crazy and even more stuff that it seems so similar to emperor and his sons its mind blowing.
Gotta go with sanguinius, the first novels I read were about the blood angels and after that I got really into warhammer 40k lore. Lion is a beast himself though.
Angron is argueably the greatest fighter amongst the Primarchs and with his gladiatorial background is possibly the greatest 1v1 combatant amongst the brotherhood so the back breaking perhaps not but epic Angel vs Red Angel fight I'm all for!! Also it wasn't so much "stand a chance" as he was the only one who could fight Sanguinius on his level save for Horus and the only one save Horus capable of defeating Sanguinius.
ok, i apologise for saying nasty stuff about Ferrus, if you like Ferrus thats ok, i see your point, i like sanguinius, and fulgrim, and personaly rate these two very highly, we all have diferant tastes, just out of my own curiosity ... you say Ferrus and El Jonson... do you have anything to argue and back up your claims, what makes you think these two are the best ? what good have they done ? or is it just your personal taste ?
From a loyalist stand point, I look at how the Iron hands , salamanders and Raven guard took to the field on the site of Isstvan V and fought against overwhelming numbers and still fought almost to the last man. Ferrus Manus was betrayed by the brother he loved the most. Think of the pain he saw as he watched his legion being cut down by Primarchs he called brothers and their troops. His anger at Fulgrim for falling so low and how he used to remember the legion of the III and how they and his legion fight alongside each other. To now fighting against them. now he watched the salamanders and raven guard retreating from the battlefield and he wanted to keep pressing the attack, but after seeing the other traitors landed and started firing on the salamanders and raven guard he knew there was no way out and he wanted Fulgrim to pay for what he as done but sadly with Fulgrim being added by a demon over took Ferrus and killed him. In my view that has to be the most devastating things to read about a Primarch being killed by his favorite brother. now as far as El' Lion goes. I love how he was raised with honor and the old way values. Now being tricked by the night lords. So that he would not be involved in the fight on terra. They to go back to his own planet and the get jumped my his close friend and other dark angels. Now I feel that El'Lion should of been the Warmaster not Horus. He is smarter then Horus and new my about strategy them the other primarchs. now this IMOP battle brother.
