im gonna have to go with imperial fists for my primary first secondary would have to be white scars for me, (all the assault bikes) and i know they aren't even close to cannon but i have to give credit for the first chapter that got me into warhammer in the first place the angry marines. for those don't know of these hilariously angry guys http://1d4chan.org/wiki/Angry_Marines
1. If they are not the main effort it is not guerilla warfare. I was speaking when guerilla clearly is. 2. This is at a tactical level, overall contesting continents, planets etc takes a lot of time. 3. Their task is precisely not to hold a point but exhaust enemies. Since a guerilla warfare oriented army lacks the firepower others may have, this situation will come to the fore for minor points at best. 4. guerila is about speed in attack. Isolating and destroying if possible pockets of the enemy and getting away before any kind of retaliation can be mustered. Unconventional warfare is anything but one dimensional. Whole nations have and are resisting or defeating superpowers. Conventional warfare is more one dimensional as it requires an enemy that plays by the same rules. Unconventional is so dangerous that conventional is taking a back seat today. This article is interesting to read, when i read it i though immediately about the Alpha Legion, Night Lords, Raven Guard and the White Scars. http://www.phyllis-chesler.com/418/conventional-versus-non-conventional-warfare In fact Space Marine in general are the unconventional forces of the Imperium, since the legion format was abandoned. With a few exceptions. Above mentioned legions/chapters are the ones that adhere most to unconventional warfare. Or some centre on specifics of unconventional warfare. The AM are your guys for conventional warfare not SM.
Some time ago, I'd say Space Wolves, hands down... In the recent editions, with all the wolf fetish, the sled, their drift to airmobile infantry style tactics, instead to their old hunter/feral, almost guerrilla tactics...no so much.... Maybe Minotaurs or some of the "darker" chapters...
Ivan has told all RG fans to start trying to turn any undecided people to their side. We don't know who isn't able to make it due to fluff conflicts but I think RG are safe. I think they all withdraw to deliverance in M41.999.
First Founding: Pre-HH IRON WARRIORS! Because why don't we just blow their fortress up with style from afar with a Colossus siege tank? Other chapter: Minotaurs. I really like the color pattern and their chapter master uses a relic spear and a shield which is super cool... They also have a contemptetor dreadnought called Hekaton Aiakos. I really dope these contemptator pattern dreadies, any chapter who has one is worth mentioning.
Funny to see how some people seem to know in what state of mind somebody else is. No, i'm not confused. I entered this thread talking about unconventional warfare in general, from a game perspective to a more realistic one (from which one can subtract for a game). My argument developed to try and present my point that unconventional warfare is not one dimensional. Basically. Are you confused?
Definitely a toss up between three, the Minotaurs, the Space Sharks, And the Sons of Orar All have certainly proven their badassery.
Calm down, as usual I meant to edit that out, and just missed it, no insult was intended. As far as a game perspective, you may be spot on with your assumptions, as far as real world and how this all works you are very mistaken. To answer your question, yes I was confused by what you were trying to describe, as you bounce all over the place with no real idea what you are on about. However, I see now you are speaking to fantasy worlds (as we should be) and that has erased my confusion. Good luck to you. lol.
