They are called "tactical" because they are flexible or as Sleepulion said "jacks of all trades" and not because they can cap.
In other games your characters role is easily ackowledged while in EC everytime that you change your gear your role will differ. Why should the tacticals have all that flexibilty and being able to cap at the same time while we have classes ATM that seem unable to pull their weight in TPS.
Also it depends on what kind of games you play, Shadow priests and Warlocks were tanky as hell in WoW and even performed as tanks in PVE/PVP (warlocks pve SPs pvp) and in certain patches Discipline priests could do alot of DD (in PVP primarily).

Lets be honest, yes its good for assaults (jumppack assaults specifically) not to be able to cap. But what about other classes. What if they add tech marines, apparently they wont be able to carry a device which is specifically designed for capturing bases. Even devastators can carry teleport becons but not something to cap a base?

  3. Because it makes them valuable despite other stronger choices when it comes to combat.

Well, if you go by lore, Tacticals are usually the ones who attack and secure objectives, while Assaults cause mayhem behind enemies line and Devastators provide fire support.

Key word being "usually".Cant we translate that into the game with different cap times for each class? Tacticals having acces to the "best/faster" caping devices followed by Devastators and support classes and JPs users being the least effective?
But its their flexibility that makes them strong they are not weaker compared to other classes.

Also what do you people think about elites like Sternguard should they be able to cap?

"No one players have all the tools they need to win, by dening anyone player all those tools the game forces these players to work togheter to achieve what they want"
Rikamar, Ideas_McGee and Djemo-SRB like this.
  7. How is it so hard to accept that the mobility of a JJ/Flight troop and conventional capping tactics being a tad OP? So do we want them to waste time down the road going back and forth live or just deal with it, making the right choice from the start.

I'd be interested to know the age and gaming experience of those who are flat our saying it's a bad idea, because those of us who have been around the block see it plain as day and have experienced it in other games. It's never a good thing. EVER.

But the classes in EC allready are missing some of these "tools" , Assaults are poor at ranged combat/devastators are poor in mellee/AS cant even hold their own weight/tacticals being jacks of all trades etc etc .
And i will ask again since the problem appears to be the mobility granted by the JPs why not "punish " that instead of the class. An assault marine without a JP still has to walk through the same sh!t as a tactical .
  9. I sont think it is he docent understand, just that he does not agree
    Galen likes this.

an assault marine with no JP will have some dash and sprint ability like the banshee.
also this is not the point.

    this is not about JP.

i don't see people complain that other class don't have JP.

why devastator don't have JP? why they can't jump over walls?
