I like the 'eavy route more, since you can style yourself as many different tabletop models, as ShadowChorus pointed out, you could be a tankbusta, loota, or perhaps a Flash-git, all in one class! @ShadowChorus, Snazzguns are pretty good, its just that the models that carry them are points expensive, making lootas better investments. (if they were the same cost flash-gitz'd be awesome.)(Also, 7th ed. did make them more viable, but they still aren't worth it, in my own opinion.)
they are quite good but if they had longer range or specializations(melta, plasma, rokkit, laser etc.) that would be awesome.
Well I hope that nobs are a sort of high level perk sort of thing that takes up a lot of points but makes you tougher but bigger or squad leaders are nobs. But yea I also agree with the whole 'eavie/loota route it works. Also if i choose shoota boy can I change out my shoota for a choppa and slugga and charge into melee with DA boys or do I have to be a stormboys too any ideas lads ? Wotz an ork ta do ya gotz ta elp me ladz.
they're single-shot weapons with variable AP on small groups of models that you have to pay even more points to make assault 2 rather than 1. That's my real problem with them. Flash gitz only come in groups of ten, so you get only ten shots at bs 2 unless you pay even more points.
Looking at tactical LSM/CSM from alfa, orks and eldar will also can have choppas, chainchoppas, power klaws etc. You can also take shield instead of rokkit pack.
