That would make sense but you get 4 character slots when you buy any of the founders packs, so if a single character in a race can be all classes what good would that be? Unless the sub-faction heavily effects a character one would think you could just have one of the starting slots for each race making additional slots superfluous.
Maybe, seems like an odd thing to add at this point and not just upon release when the f2p players would be coming in. Guess we'll find out closer to launch.
Maybe they think some hardcore fan will want like.... A Space Wolf, an Ultramarine, a Night Lord, a Word Bearer, a Goff and an Evil Suns plus an Elfdar?
Something like that would be my guess. Granted, they could also just be trying to be sure that the extra slot purchasing process works properly well before we get the next faction. Think of all the raging and gnashing of teeth that would happen if they released the extra slot options at the same time as a new faction and for some reason the extra slot purchase didn't work right .
Is it confirmed by a dev that paying players spawn as nob versions of the classes for free? because Brent seems to contradict that when he said: Which seems to suggest that Nobz (as well as possibly mega armoured nobz) are elite units, and cost RP?
Character slots = A slot is used up when you select a Faction and a sub-faction. So one can have all 4 sub-factions of one race or 4 different sub-factions from all the 4 factions. Example: P1 loves Orks so he roles all 4 slots for the 4 different Ork sub-faction i.e : slot 1 = Goffs, slot 2: Evil sunz, slot 3: Badmoonz, slot 4: Death Skulls. While P2 could not make his mind which race to splay so he select one sub-faction from each faction slot 1: Ultasmurf (SM) slot 2: Pansies of the Disk (eldar) slot 3: Worldmunchers (chaos) slot 4: Goffs ( green skins) One thing we don't know is if one roles as multiple factions (i.e 4 slot different factions) would they be able to jump form one to the other right then and there. Or will there be a Cooldown in order to make sure that players miss use it. That is jumping to the winning faction to get all the Perks and rewards when the campaign is coming to an end. Or to Miss use it in order to be spy's. getting all info of the faction and log-in into the other faction (the faction they are loyal to ) and give them all the info about the first faction plans.
Yes this is still very confusing. But my guess is that when Brent said Nobz he meant "Mega Nobz" Miguel said that the person who buys Orks faction will be able to play Nobz, MANZ, Mekboys, but they still have the option to play as the F2p boyz aswell. See what I mean. It is very confusing what they really mean when they say Nobz. Your guess is as good as mine m8. Either Players who buy the faction get Nobz or either Nobz are elites. Or when ever they say Nobz they mean MANZ. We have to keep in mind when the developers are talking they might make a mistake by saying a wrong units name when in reality they meant the other. ( which I have noticed them doing numerous times in interviews. they start the sentence with one unit type name and by the end of it they are of the story they are using a total different units name instead.) Do I blame them for making this mistake?or does this make me angry? NO. Long ago I learnt always take what the developers say with a grain of salt and give them the benefit of the doubt. Some times a poor texture artist might be put in front of the camera just because some one else was not there. But in situations like this, We the fans are so desperate for Information, that what ever comes out of the texture artist mouth will be dissected on our operation theaters on the forums. And if by some chance this guy makes a mistake, then that mistake will become info, which is passed on as Facts about the game. Very soon fans forget who said this and will make into a Fact and keep on passing the wrong info. When the game comes out the fans are angry saying : we were told this woudl be in the game and you didn't deliver. It is not confirmed but its a general conclusion most of us have come to that Nobz are the Faction buyers equalant of the Ork Boyz. This is very similar to how every one came to conclusion before the official list was released that MANZ were elites and that Pain boy will be a regular boy. Though they never showed them in the initial Faction artwork. which had 2 x F2p boyz ( Lootaz and storm boy ) and 2 x elites ( MANz and Mekboy) So Is it confirmed Nobz are faction buyers equalant of Boyz? No. But we were right about Painboy, Manz and Wyrdboyz, and Deffdread ( or killakans). So fair chance that we are right about Nobz aswell. + It does make the most sense.
If i well recall, the devs stated somewhere that nobs will be a special unit available only to squad and stryke force leaders. They won't be an exclusive class, as they'll keep their original role, supported by further unique abilities available only to them. The ftw boyz won't be able to get this unit because they can't escalate the hierarchy. I don't remember where this thing was confirmed, but someone may find it among the threads to confirm what i said...
I think this was one of the Q&A session with Miguel, He gave this example when he was explaining the Hierarchy of the faction. But like you I don't have the link to it either.
