    Plus, that would not be very nice.
    .....

    But it would be a right gud larf.....
  3. Where to Skarboyz and Ardboyz fit into the picture? I dont know too much about 40K Orks(coming from 40K fantasy), but I thought Slugga < Skarboyz < Ardboyz.

    The basic class list put out yesterday shows presumably 3 ranged classes and 1 melee, to mirror their SM/CSM couterparts.

    Shoota = Tactical
    Loota = Devastator
    Stormboyz = Assault
    Painboy = Apothecary

    I'm glad they went the way they did with Eldar, since they're worlds away from having any SM/CSM mirrors. My question is why did they try to mirror Ork basic classes so close to SM/CSM vs going the same route with Orks as they did with Eldar?

    I dont want to see "Shoota" as a jack of all trades that's descent in melee and descent at ranged combat. I'd much rather see "Loota" be able to equip all the Ork ranged weapons(shootas, burnas, combi-weapons, Deffguns, Rokkits) and scrap the "Shoota" class for a dedicated, heavily armored powerful MELEE class in the form of Skarboyz or Ardboyz.

    So I gather you come from the warhammer fantasy TT game.

    This is what they are according to the Codex on TT

    Slugga= normal Boy with Choppa and Slugga can be upgraded to have shootas. hence Slugga and Shoota are the same Boy just that one prefers one weapon rather the other.

    SkarBoy = Used to be in older codex has not been in since last codex. But Fluff wise they are Veterans hence the name. Due to surviving many battles their bodies have many Skars. ORK Logic it has Skars? well better call them Skar boyz then. *** WACK*** WUT ELSE WOULD CALL EM GIT?

    Ard Boyz= Any mob that is upgraded with heavy armor is called Ard boyz. why? because Ork Logic the armor is hard so Ard boyz ***SMACK*** NO YA STUPID GIT ITS BECAUSE THEY ARE DEAD ARD TO KILL!

    So basically there is no hierarchy here in between these 3. you might consider Skar boyz higer than the other though.
    Keep in mind SkarBoyz are not Nobz but Nobz can be Skarboyz.

    I don't know why they are calling it Shoota Boy rather than a Boy.

    Basically Ork boyz are the versatile one rather than the lootaz. (according to TT) As this game is based on the TT lets have a look what they can do on the table.

    Lootaz are very restricted in what they can do. They can only give Range heavy damage. (Deffguns)

    On the other hand Ork Boyz are much more versatile. You can have Boyz with following weapons:
    • Slugga + choppa: TO SMASH
    • Shoota : DAKKA
    • Big Shoota : MORE DAKKA
    • Rokkit Launcha : FOR VEHICLE BASHING
    • Stikk Bombs : FOR MAKING THINGS MORE INTERESTING
    • Skorcha : FOR BURNING STUFF this is not a current upgrade but has been in older codex's and in DOW games
    as you can see all the weapons you want to give to Lootaz in reality belong to the Normal Boy ( in this case Shoota boy)

    Now we already have a Skar boy hero and most prob Ard boy is going to be an upgrade for the Ork faction.

    Guys I have a question:
    I know some advanced classes can be obtained with requisition at they last until your death. And those should be the Elitè ones, but I read that Hero classes will follow the same system.
    I personally don't like much the idea of not having a solid specialization to follow since it will last until I die... What do ye think?

    They aren't real classes. See them more as special limited player controlled weapons, heavely supporting allies as long as they are alive. Your goal is to keep this special units in combat as long as possible, so, if you are enough highly skilled and coordinated with the other players, you should last pretty much longer than when you use a regular class.

    Ill try to explain your issue ( specialisation ) with the following example:

    Lets say Player:1 (call him P1 or now) likes to play Ork Stormboy. In-fact that is the only reason he wants to play this game.

    Nothing is stopping him from playing only Stormboy. In the long run he will be a better Stormboy than P2 who like to play all 4 classes every now and then.

    The classes have a limited points in order to deck them out with different perks and weapons. In order to use a better weapons it cost more points. The same is the case with perks.

    You gain points by playing that certain class in order to make it better. So if P1 is playing Stormboy on regular bases then his Stormboy will be better than P2. Due to P1 investing more time playing this certain class he has more points to make his load out and has progressed far enough in this class to access more expensive and powerful upgrades.

    But now lets assume P1 is playing with a group of other Orks and they are getting their green behinds beaten to kingdom Gork. So all players decide that its better to get into a bastion and take a defensive stance. staying in the bastion allows them to even the odds against the enemies.

    In the above scenario it would be wise for P1 to play different from his regular play-style. So it would be wise to shift his class to either Shoota or Loota rather than playing a storm boy who can not use his jump pack in such a low ceiling building. + because Orks are outnumbered badly in this situation, as a Stormboy charging out of the bastion = blown to bits.

    you can stick to one type of class and specialise most of the time but some scenarios would be easier to be played with another class. Once out of that scenario the player can jump back into their favourite class.

    As for the Elite classes, think of them more like a +Units. that allows you to to throw a powerful unit for one life in order to turn the fight in your factions favour.

    so in the above bastion example: All Ork players take defensive classes and kill all those enemies that try to get close, and all this time the Orks are accumulating Req points, and saving them for a push.

    when enough of them have the gathered points they all change to the Elite classes and rush out in a counter attack.

    because now most of the orks are playing as Elites they have a fair chance against the enemies that outnumbered them.

    Think of requisition points as something that you save for situation that require them to be used. Rather than "hey I hit 1000point lets role an elite!"

    when the time comes you will use the requisition for what is needed. May be the boyz need a truk to get to fight that is far from where you are currently situated. The Truk would be more helpful in this situation rather than a Mega Armored Nob.

    So in short By all mean go ahead and play only the class you like. But at some points you will be glad that you can jump to another class.

  9. Musibat-Khan, thanks that's very helpful but it does leave me with one confusion, if this is the function then what purpose does the extra character slot in the founders store serve?

    So you can play multiple races. Like have a green an' mean ork, a posh space marine, a spiky chaos marine or even a pansy Eldar.
