Hey peoples of the Forum. I don't care if you are a xenos, heretic, loyalist, monkey or whatever, this thread is about..... THE BATTLEFLEET GOTHIC AND YOUR EXPERIENCE! I am curios for 3 reasons: 1. For my personal RP and future RP's to find someone who may teach me a bit so that space battles may be balanced 2. In case space battle should ever come to Eternal Crusade 3. How many people even ever had or in fact know "Battlefleet Gothic" the space-battle Table-Top variant of the wh40k universe! EDIT: This is regards Tabletop rules AND lore. E.G. How far can an Ion Cannon from the Tau shoot? How Far a Railgun? Can a Dominator Class of the Imperium win against a Space Marine Strike Cruiser? How many fighters / bombers can be carried by an Overlord Class? What are the chances to evade a Lance Shot? Can be attacks such as Lances / Railguns / Ion Cannons be picked up on radars so that evasion commands can be given to the fleet in time?
Although never having played the game myself, I think that fleet actions would DEEPLY enhance the experience! Perhaps by adding or cutting off certain supplies for the ground troops, limiting the use of terminators, tanks, etc.

That would be basically building a standalone game on top of the current stuff, There is no way that will be in for launch.
Sounds more like an Add-On for me lol. Or like EVE Online & EVE DUST 514 One game spaceships only, the other one ground combat only but both games are linked together. So if there is an imperial ship in the orbit of the planet that has an on-going campaign the players on the planet can request orbital bombardment.
I think a 40k space combat game would be incredible. It's one of my dream games. Massive multi-kilometer warships, their hulls bristling with guns, unleashing massed, continent killing firepower at each other while hundreds of smaller fighter craft dogfight around them. Pure epic win. The battles would basically look like the re-imagined Battlestar Galactica battles (probably the best SciFi space battles ever), only with 40k ships and more of them. And lots more shooting/explosions!
From my experiences, BFG tends to lowball a lot of stuff for gameplay purposes, whereas fluff has often very different descriptions.
