I thought tau ships were kinda slow actually. Another faction that I don't see to much. Either way if nova canons make eldar mad I can only wait to see what a rail canon does to you.
They're more maneuverable than IN and Ork for sure, maybe even Chaos. Moreover, their weapons are super long range and they have guided torpedoes.
Are they more maneuverable in the sense they are fast and nimble or in the sense they have really good control side to side.
If we're sticking to tabletop examples (which the developer has done a solid job of keeping up with thus far, barring a couple of mechanical changes) then they'll be slow but have a fantastic turning rate. They've also got a couple of very big advantages, the least of which is their torpedoes are AI controlled. This meant that tau vessels could have limited control over them, suddenly redirecting entire spreads or altering their course a few times, barring malfunctions or whatnot. Atop of this, they've got the same heavy broadsides close range ships are known for.
So if they're adding fleet colors then doesn't that mean Orks are getting free upgrades? I mean the Red Unz go fasta, and blue is lucky so clearly a blue ship is harder to hit. And have you ever seen a purple Ork Cruiza? I thought not.
It's been a while so I can't give exact details, but I don't recall them being spectacular. They offered them some durability - enough to hold up relatively well in a few close engagements - but you were mostly expected to keep enemy vessels at arm's length before moving in to finish them off.
