Battlefleet Gothic - Armada

  1. Both they and the Nids are incredibly popular. They are the ultimate quality over quantity army, with the flat out best ships, best guns, best speed, best equipment, and lets not forget that delicious 4+ armor save. It is always fun to try and beat a superior number of enemies with your own troops. It is also fun to beat a statistically superior ship, so people want to fight them. Also, there are more than a few Necron fans out there, there is even a guild here in EC with more than 30 members. The nids are also really fun. The whole swarming thing, all those ships, and lets not forget the boarding. The best bit? Melee. Capital Ship. Melee. Have you ever seen a ship shank another ship? No? Well, its awesome, so people want tyranids because ships stabbing ships is awesome. TBH though, the main reason that they have so many votes is that the SM, Chaos, Eldar and Ork fleets are already in, so the most popular factions are already appeased and not being voted for. The third best seems foolish to me though, considering the Tau space fleet (the Kor'vatta I believe) is incredibly shitty.

Good thing about Necrons and Nids is that they are truly different (in form and gameplay) from the 4 who are going to be in the game from the start. (5 if you count the space marine)

Which is really awesome you know, different ways of playing is what keeps the game fresh.
  3. Exactly, thats what I love about warhammer. Unlike certain games where all factions are just Evil protagonist or protagonist or protagonist but with more missiles, each faction is so very different and plays differently, meaning no match is truly the same. If you play against chaos the way you would against marines, you'll lose. These two factions have a lot of potential I feel.
  4. I voted Craftworld Eldar. I think they had way cooler ship designs than the Corsair Eldar we're getting right now.

They do but they dont play the same way corsair eldar do . They play more like a faster version of the imperium

Finally got the game to work and I love it. Used my evil sun trakter beam the throw an annoying chaos ship into an astroid field then followed up with a mini warp jump to his other side to Red button ram him right back in. Ermagurd the tactical choices are so awesome.

At this point i think i'm going to stop playing till release. I really can't wait for the campaign but the skirmish stuff kind of bores me.

I don't want to get sick of it so, yeah, a little pause. Release is next week anyway, not too long now.

After playing some more I'm kind of disappointed in some of the game modes. Mainly anything based around catching an enemy before they warp out. Warpout in general seems almost impossible to stop. I have had matches where I don't even reach the enemy (usually a pansy ass chaos) before he just warps out of the fight and auto wins. That and the stasis bomb is way too effective for kiting always forces me to use MWJ just to avoid it and be able to close with the enemy. I think the basic fight modes are great but the objective modes punish some factions way too hard.

Edit. I just rammed a flagship on asasination as he warped blowing him up as he completed warp but I still lost. SHENANIGANS!!!
