It is on focus interactive website : http://fr-focushop.nexway.com/jeux/strategie-temps-reel/battlefleet-gothic-armada-806270.html Don't mind it being french, you just have to look at the box below the picture showing a retail-like jacket for the game. It says "Date de sortie : 23/03/2016" which means that the game is to be officialy launched at that date. We're gonna get the early access soon™
Some MP details that might excite, or concern, you: Your fleets in Battlefleet Gothic are persistent: your captains and their ship's crew increase in levels, as well as yourself. Gaining ranks as an admiral allows you to field a broader variety of ships, including the biggest Battleships. When captains get new levels, it opens new skill slots for their ships to increase their performances. While destroyed ships are not entirely lost – you can either wait for repairs, or pay a hefty sum of Renown points to get an immediate replacement – battles may have medium-term effects. For example, a ship lost in the warp will remain so for multiple battles, requiring you to rely on other ships in the meantime.
If the MP forms part of a meta campaign on-line - It is potentially very exciting ,my concern would be how renown is gained if there's a cash involved thats dire but if its only generated as rewards from battles/daily quests I like the concept.
Right, my fear is the possibility of renown microtransactions, and that's also gonna depend on what else players will be allowed to do with renown. I wouldn't mind seeing cosmetic stuff, like multiple chapters for the Space Marine fleet (since they are apparently Ultramarines).
I thought I'd be hyped as all hell for Battlefleet Gothic, being a player of the TT back in the day, but...well...I really like the sound of some of the mechanics they've outlined in principle. I'm also thinking they sound like frustration-magnets, particularly if you're facing off against players and have a persistent fleet with semi-permadeath linked to the ship or the crew. Might just be me, but I remember the spitting fury and rage when uber-trolls in Blood Bowl started going out in multiplayer with Chaos teams which could be designed reliably and effectively to cripple or kill the other side. As one person put it "I don't win many games, but that's not what this team is for..." People got rightfully angry that their hard-developed teams were splatted into broken pieces and characters effectively reset by an opponent who didn't care if he lost 5-0. Cue the mighty ragequitting as soon as anyone with a Chaos army joined a match. It's not yet clear to me how Tindalos will prevent similar toxicity in the multiplayer for Battlefleet Gothic, but I guess we'll see... As it stands, I'll be waiting for player feedback before getting it or not. I could probably have been swung by the four factions being playable either as individual campaigns, or in a shared campaign similar to Dark Crusade / Soulstorm, because winning the Gothic War as the Orks would just be pure awesome. But no. Once again, we must be the Imperium and only the Imperium. And the only Space Marines we get are the Ultrasmurfs, and they're behind a (small) paywall. Getting a bit bored of this kind of bollo situation, to be honest.
Honestly, I don't care for MP as much as SP, give me a good campaign with a well written story and good voice acting and cutscenes (if the narrative trailer is anything to go by it will be good) and I'm happy, the MP won't be a priority, unless I end up enjoying the game alot.
I wish they'd show the Eldar ships. I want to see what they decicded to go with, the angular weird wingy ships or the cool oddball solar sail ships.
:O Not a whole lot to look at but I just noticed that when you go to your Steam Library page and click on Armada the background of it has changed to a picture of Ork ships in all their Pirrahna-y junky glory.
