OOC: RP is on pause until post-Chritsmas because Metaldog and Lord-Watchman for example are gone, I can imagine many others will. RP will resume on the 27th of December.

    Lorias City Aqueducts

Secutor Draxis lead his Praetorians in a column two abreast, as they trudged through the narrow tunnels. The sewage was nearly waist deep and flowed quickly. Lesser troops would struggle against the current, but the Mechanicum warriors paid it no heed.

Ahead of them, a portal opened up into a larger chamber. It was filled with massive machinery dedicated to the first stages of filtration and purification for the city's waste water. This station removed the largest particulate and introduced chemicals to breakdown bacteria. These machines had been installed by the first colonists of Lorias, as the original city had gradually expanded and required a system of aqueducts to provide the citizens with potable water. They had dutifully carried out their purpose, nearly autonomously, for centuries.

As they marched into the chamber, Draxis gazed upwards and observed the network of catwalks above. Here and there a servitor was mindlessly carrying out it's programmed maintenance routine. He ignored them, while ordering several of his warriors to take up firing positions in the alcoves above. The catwalks would provide advantageous firing arcs. Those Praetorians equipped with long range weaponry took up positions above.

The rest spread out on Draxis' command. They took cover behind massive pipes and thrumming conduits, the ambient noise drowning out their movement. The steam from the exhaust vents would mask their presence from sensors and combined with the winding passageways, rendered auspex all but useless. Their trap was well set.

The faint echoes of the charging mass of berserk traitors rolled towards them. Draxis sent a low frequency vox burst to Major Briggs, detailing the route to their position and warning him of the tunnel conditions.

As a last measure, Draxis ordered his warriors to dim all of their external light sources. Optics included. Each warrior was relying on his passive sensors to detect the presence of the enemy and their night vision optic filters for sight. Once the traitors entered the chamber, they would face a deadly fusillade of precise fire. At that point light discipline would be irrelevant. The enemy's numbers would count for very little. Without light or reliable auspex, they would charge blindly into their doom.

Were he still capable of doing so, Draxis would have smiled.

Ora City - Fabrication Conclave Ultimas

Thousands of Skitarii snapped to attention as their master disembarked his transport. Bohrmann's brass gilded throne skittered out of the heavily armoured transport and advanced down the center of the mustered troops. They were arranged in perfect ranks and would put even a Mordian Regiment to shame on the parade square.

Executor Saul Haxx stood next to his master's throne, on the raised dais that the stilt-legs were mounted two. He surveyed the warriors with pride, basking in the superiority of the Mechanicum's strength. The sight of 10,000 Tech-Guard was truly awe inspiring. Here were soldiers that were truly fearless and unquestioningly obedient. Each fitted with the best augmentations and battle gear in the their arsenal. Another 90,000 warriors garrisoned the rest of the city. Manning fortifications and protecting vital infrastructure.

Prior to their arrival, the city had been completely locked down. Nothing entered or left the city without prior authorization. The PDF stationed in the city, as useless as their were, were on high alert and waited in reserve. Saul was certain that they would be called away to defend the Capital before too long.

Should the Capital fall however, Saul had already ensured arrangements were made to save the Imperial worthies of the local government. Shuttles stood by to whisk the servants of the Adeptus Terra to the safety of Ora's walls. Key individuals had been identified based on seniority and usefulness. Administratum Prefects. Key Nobles of the most powerful houses. Trade Barons and senior Guild functionaries, and all manner of Military Officers not already engaged in front line action. Those who could be saved, would be.

The grievances between the Governess and the Mechanicum aside, they still had a sacred duty to the Emperor. Saul would not allow his master's grand ambitions to overshadow their primary function. If order was to be maintained, then the key officers of state needed to be kept alive, for they would be integral in the rebuilding that was to follow. Providing that they managed to stave off disaster.

However, even that contingency was planned for. If defeat was eminent, the Mechanicum had several warp-capable freighters on retainer. These vessels were docked at high anchor and were fueled and ready to depart at a moments notice. Should the need arise, the most valuable assets could be evacuated off world and spirited away to the nearest Imperial system still loyal to the Golden Throne.

Saul hoped it did not come to that, but it always payed to be prepared for disaster.

Regardless, Saul had already sent a formal request for aid to Sub-Sector Command. In doing so, he had bypassed several chains of authority higher then himself, including the Lady Governor, but he thought it prudent. With a Tau invasion fleet bearing down on them, and only a small fleet on hand to repel them, it seemed the logical option. Reinforcements could take weeks, months even, to arrive and that was after days or weeks of debate at Sub-Sector Command on whether or not any forces could be spared to aid them in the first place.

Forgemaster Bohrmann had more then a few favours owed that could be called upon if necessary, but it would be a shame to waste them so soon . . .

"Understood Secutor Draxis." Major Briggs had a smile on his face for the first time since this while Attack on the city began. The PDF were unreliable but the Mechanicus could be counted on to dive selflessly into danger for the good of the Emperor. He grabbed the vox and ordered the pursuing PDF, "Give chase through the sewers! Do not let them escape!" If there were any traitors within his ranks they would not be privy to the fact that there was an ambush up ahead. "Corporal Waters I need a stats on the outer wall! I want that breach closed yesterday!" The Corporal responded with Yes Sir, and immediately began box traffic with the officer in charge of securing the wall.
  4. (OOC: I am unsure if a normal human can carry a las cannon. But okay)
Torin was almost a whirlwind of death on top of the wall. Killing guardsman after guardsman. The normal lasrifle shots that struck her armor barely dented the demonic metal. Of course would a stronger shot blast trough it but she didn't care. Either trough plain luck... Or by the gods will did the lascannons shot hit the axe instead of her. She lets out a growl as she looks towards where the las-cannon shot came from. She frowns and leaps forwards, her eyes gleams as she closes in on the wielder, like. Predator on its prey.

OOC: the lascannon is a crew served weapon and it was mounted on the wall with the defenders, she took over when the gunner was hit.

The Shas'O turned to the vespid as he asked of the battle plans. "Glad you could join us! I have just finished explaining to the others our course of battle, we will go with a most.....aggressive tactic."

The commander pulled up a detailed hologram of the nearby asteroid. "Using our superior technology we shall slingshot this asteroid into the heart of the Gue'la base, we shall also use a portion of our navy led by our Kor'O here, to shield it from enemy fire and engage any Imperial ships that get too close."

Lar'Shi used his hand to insert several holograms of their naval forces in front of the rock.

"Then the navy shall peel off from the rock and withdraw behind it, allowing our main force to deploy when needed."

  8. Torin growls as she swings her axe in a wide swing. The huge demonic axe lets out a terrigying growling sound as it swings trogh the air. The air ripples as the shots seems to detonate and explode or smash against the air itself. but torin flies backwards, landing on the walll staring at the guardsmen.
"FACE ME, WORM. FIGHT LIKE A TRUE WARRIOR AND NOT SOME COWARD THAT HIDES BEHIND METTALIC WEAPONRY! COME FORTH AND FIGHT FOR GLORY!"
  9. Uriel1339 Uriel1339 Lord of Posts

"Very well. ETA is multiple hours. I am certain the Imperial Fleet will detect us though the moment we put our ships in front of the Asteroid. Therefor the final question is. Shall we aim for their Orbital Defense Platform, or directly for their cities? To aim for the ships could be foolish as most likely they will engage in evasion maneuver." The Kor'O warned.

"Creative" the Helms mechanical voice droned out. "My wing is ready for battle, all preparations have been made for planet fall.

"I have to agree with the Kor'O. Attacking the city directly will guarantee a hit and would give my wing the Advantage."
