    Chaos Space Marines, Basic Tactics.

Hold A until it is out of lives, then fall back to B bridge
At B Bridge, when you die, fall back to B interior forward balcony (Stay off the floor and away from walls)
On the B Interior, when lives hit 60, fall back to Rear Balcony.
At 1 Minute, All melee rush B to prevent final rush to point from enemy.

Its basic, people can adapt to it and it can be used as a "Generic" way of play which most players can conform to with little training... I play as an Iron Warrior so I already know several ways to beat this but... Still... It works well enough, and if you can get the public members on your side it can be fairly effective as a basic tactic.

Eldar will likely have some modifications to this because of specialized classes.

Hope this helps anyone wondering what to do, hopefully helps people wanting to know how to defend this map in an easy to understand (although not perfect) way.

    Eldar DEFENSIVE tactics:

Spawn at the wall points until the gates are destroyed. Reapers and some melee to help keep the mobile attackers off them (and maybe a warlock aswell).

When gates are destoyed spawn in A unless you are high mobile (Hawks) in which case spawn at B.

At A, Scorpions and/or Banshees holding main floor, ranged elsewhere. DO NOT USE AE stuff on the point... ffs! (Been nuked many times by my own side here). When lives are out, fall back to B. Do not rush to A! (Seen many teams use A as a trap and slaughter people rushing to defend thus wasting B lives).

    At B:-
Reapers - AV on balconies (main targets are vehicles and stationary infantry), suppression Reapers on the doors.
Hawks - become bridge snipers (most people do not look up and behind them so great to snipe people hiding behind barriers trying to cross the bridge). Otherwise snipe long range shots thru the doorways and hope for some good shots.
Banshee/Scorps - Stand near the main building doors (NOTE: Not at the doors due to Plasma spam) and guard stairs and squishy slow people.
Warlocks - backup melee on stairs and Reapers backline. Melee when needed but main job is to keep people alive and ticket loss down.
    Dragons - useless
Avengers - Stair protection duty along with backline defence. Door supression fire aswell.

    Better defensive tactics:
    • Always spawn at point B unless you are in imminent danger of losing point A. Use the wall spawns to kill enemy armor while the gates are still up.
    • Keep an eye on the rate at which your team is losing tickets. It's probably not going to change throughout the match.
    • Note whether the enemy is seriously making headway into A. Random sneaky caps that are quickly interrupted don't count as headway.
    • The A spawns should not be used.
    • If you are in danger of losing point A, that is when you can use the A spawns to flood the point.
    • There are circumstances when it's a good idea to give up A and make a stand at B. They depend on the match timer, your ticket loss rate, and the enemy's headway into A. "Every match" is not the correct circumstances. Don't just copy something you've seen organized players do without understanding why or when to do it.
Fortress maps are very winnable for defender now. I've seen too many defences lost when the defenders gave up an untouched point A with two minutes on the clock because they saw an organized group do it in a situation where it made sense.

  10. Nah dude, that map is boring, repetitive and riddled with bugs, there's no real strategy involved in fortress maps, it's just a battle of attrition, you go in, kill as many as you can, die, repeat until the enemy runs out of credits.

That other mode where you have to cap A then B then C is a little more dynamic but still repetitive and boring as fuck.

The only truly dynamic and fun mode is that one where there are 3 points to be captured and held simultaneously.
