    Hey guys

Since the target of the game is conquering a planet and every 3 months a new planet opens for ur to be liberated by us eldars for our cause as far as I know from the developers, my question is our starting area for our race a craftworld or a wraithship with a gigantic webway so our forces would be able to transport to nearby planets just like in dawn of war dark crusade, which one do you prefer to have it implemented and if a planet has been conquered by us and supposedly the orkss faction decided to raid it again and try to conquer it from us,do we have to go back and forth each time to defend it because that would put alot of stress on us if they decided to attack two attack us on both sides while we are preoccupied with another area.

It won't be a craftworld. Those house civilians/future generations, you don't fly those into battle if you can at all help it.

I don't think wraithships would quite make sense as a staging point either since Eldar move the bulk of their forces through the webway...right from the craftworld, at least that's my impression. That doesn't mean we couldn't have wraithships anyway though since space-control would still be needed presumably even if there's no space combat. So, you could still have quarters on a ship.

Alternatively Eldar housing could be back on their craftworld, in a limited area naturally since you're not going to be building a whole craftworld for this. Since the webway would allow movement pretty much anywhere, it doesn't need to be on the space-ship's unlike the other factions. I think maybe this is what you meant actually. I am not too sure now.
We don't really know how it will work. Maybe once a planet is conquered, that's it? Everyone moves on? While the faction that won it get's a perk of some kind like a scenic vista they can visit on said world. I'm being soft most likely though, no scenic peaceful vistas for us probably.

Likely it'll take a hint from WAR's open PVP warzones, which gave boosts and penalties as players conquered certain areas.

If the eldar path trilogy serves as any base then you dont have eldar forces going directly into battle from the craftworld webway, it seems that they need to mark locations to open webway portals and even then it seems to be limited range (ie, the force needs to be in the sector or in proximity, so a ship is needed)
  5. there will be just one planet for launch with many kontinets to fight over

maybe in a far future there will be another planet

Honestly the webway and how it works exactly just confuses me at the moment. It's supposed to be fairly safe at least in the bigger/main passage-ways so a host ought to be fine marching straight from the craftworld if need be. Perhaps they stop along the way at specific webways which act as supply depots or resting spots?

Don't know. Mostly I'm intrigued with the possibility of a slightly different Eldar housing system though that would of-course be extra work for the least popular faction so I'm not exactly holding my breath.
  7. Apart from Exodite worlds and the odd shrine world, Eldar are two few in number to occupy any planet. Generally planet fall is made to drive off invaders and encourage to leave the planet alone, failing that take what they need and move on. protracted engagements and planet garrisoning are extremely rare.

What would be more our thing is advancing onto an existing conflict with our own objectives to achieve that enable us to control and dictate planetary control by other races. Eventually driving them off for us to claim. imagine how cool it would be having the imperium boasting about its control of a sector, without them realising its all according to our grand plan.

We'd still need to give them "encouraging" nudges in the right direction from century to century.

  9. Iv looked at a different thread and there talking about making only 1 planet I don't know the size of the planet or for the information to be true but one of the lead designers posted it in a thread

Traversing the webway takes time, it's a shortcut rather than a means of instantaneous travel and oft-times the distances and the number of troops being mobilised can be large enough to require ships.
The logistics involved in marching entire armies from 4 plus craftworlds to the battle will probably require too much in the way of forward planning and so the speed and reliability of ships would likely be a better call with such a large engagement.

I believe that the Devs have already said that player housing will take the form of ships in orbit and I've no reason to believe that the Eldar will be a special case, so I'm guessing that the story will begin with the main battle force already in situ.
