This complain is funny to me because the Banshee is probably just as blind as you are. You can't see what he other person is queuing up when they're a blurry mess.
Melee combat is less about reacting and far more about predicting. Not seeing what they are going to do is no problem when one of the more likely responses is a panic d-bash, especially if the Banshee managed to flank the target.
I find it funny that the defence of the Banshee's scream from the Eldar community is effectively; "that's the idea." This isn't a defence ladies and gentlemen. If the scream was badly designed and OP, regardless of how it's "supposed" to work it would need tweaking. To counter your argument let me ask you a simple question; how do you think the Kannon was supposed to work? Personally I have no problems with it but I haven't played against it extensively since the last few patches so I don't know if it's changed. Also doesn't it in addition to the extra damage and suppression also cause the banshee's weapon to have a way higher impact rating? Or was that removed? This is some daft stuff I'm seeing, he asked for "I win" buttons, not a list of weapons you dislike or think could be amazing. Let's look at these vs a Banshee in more detail; - Kannon Deffgun (basically a 1hit ragdoll) Can't shoot target if BLIND and SUPPRESSED - Big shoota (shoot in the general direction of the banshee and she'll die before reaching you) What? Unless she uses cover, flanks, uses her speed to zigzag shots, iframes on dodge rolls, you miss etc etc etc HYPERBOLE - Ace dakka Can't shoot target if BLIND and SUPPRESSED - 1 shot slugga (if you know how to aim (hint: for the head)) Can't shoot target if BLIND and SUPPRESSED, if you miss you're f%"£&ed, EXPENSIVE - Smart slugga (that is just ridiculous, especially against eldar) And it's not even affected by the scream because it aims for you, lawl. And this is going to deal more DPS than a Banshee smacking you with her sword? REALLY? ... among other things. What other things? Name one? It's not really equalising the field though if she deals more damage, has way higher impact and you can't hit her at all because you're blind? More hyperbole. How do you run from the fastest faction in the game Saf? Where do you run to when you're blind? Poor advice. You have no choice but to fight because if the Banshee gets a scream off on you she is in close proximity and will be on your ass within seconds.
You asked for "i win button", not for counter-measures against banshee when you already debuffed and compromised to death. =) Actually Kannon kill you without warnings while banshee inform you before. Even more: inform ALL AROUND about present yourself.
A Howling Banshee with the cooldown reduction on the Banshee Scream can take out unsuspecting foes at an astounding rate (faster than a Scorpion), but they are still forced to rely on "stealth" via flanking and allies distracting the enemy to get close enough to do that, and if the enemy manages to clang or dbash you might as well just redeploy ^^ I have gotten 22 kills in a "Banshee only" game on Torias last month so it is definitively not bad, but that was in a match where both teams consisted of 90% Rank 1 players so that hardly counts, even with my lack of melee skills ^^
You are mislead, dear. The OP was asking for I-win buttons, considering the Banshee Scream was one. I gave him I-win buttons with the exact same criteria "I-win"ness criteria. Yes. The smart slugga (if you can see the banshee BEFORE she starts smacking you with her sword) WILL deal enough damage to take her down. YES. Other things... Power Klaw. Power Fist. These are a perfect I-win button. "Yo, you don't see me, I have literally nothing that is warning you that I'm just about to put this giant thing ALL THE WAY UP YOUR BUTT! And you're one hit ragdolled." Also the burny Choppa: "LoL stabbed you puny eldar with 2 Fast attacks and now you dead. hurhurhur" Yes it is, actually. Because if you stop being a .... nice little fellow, you will notice that the banshee REQUIRES more hits to kill an Ork than the Ork requires to kill the banshee and Thanks to the scream, this values are brought to the same level. Ie: an Ork needs 1 Strong attack and 1 Fast attack to kill a banshee. Without scream a Banshee will need 1 Strong and 2 Fast. With Scream a Banshee will need 1 Strong and 1 Fast. Looks pretty equalized to me. Know the map, know your surroundings, look at your minimap to know where your friendlies are. And if you RUN after managing a DBash on a banshee, there are 2 outcomes possibles: 1) The banshee is a stubborn one and chases you across the map. You can either bait her in a trap around a corner, on a grenade, or into your allies (that, if she is skilled enough, might be actually slaughtered) 2) The banshee is happy to have done her job at making your flee and seeks another target. In that case you stay alive. The speed advantage of the eldar exists but will only matter if the said banshee is chasing you all the way from A to B (two different capture points on the map) considering both players never let go of the Shift Key It won't even matter if you are under the WAAAAAGH because you have this speed advantage too. EDIT: Please note that if you spot a banshee about 15m away from you, and start shooting at that time (be it a Big Shoota, Shoota, Ace Dakka, Dakka Slugga...), even if she screams and blinds you... There are a lot of chances she'll die before even reaching you, halfway through her Strong attack animation.
