Okay this might sound incredibly embarrassing but I have no idea how to tag someone I would have tagged swagnus to give him a poke and see if he was alive But honestly, I have no clue how to do the fancy tag thing Also I would love to take part in an EotE game. I'm rather interested in how they worked in the whole success failure system.
You use the @ symbol in front of their name: @Valonox I hope I didn't scare him away. I didn't mean to kill your RP! Also, I have the latest version of the Star Wars d6 RPG if that helps.
No no it's fine We haven't really got off the ground (or Nar Shaddaa) yet anyways I feel that your always welcome to jump back in when this hopefully picks back up and gets into the fun stuff.
EotE system is..... Strange to get used to when you've been playing D6 for a while. But honestly once you get used to the new dice (extra money for the company) it's actually a lot quicker. You will know if you fail or succeed without the GM having to tell you. I enjoy the new system.
EotE has the whole succeed fail, and the whole advantage threat system in one roll right? So it's entirely possible to fail but have a better outcome then flat out failure, and you can succeed but at a cost or disadvantage later on. It's kind of interesting to the normal pass/fail system most things have
Exactly! Plus you can succeed but still have potential bad things happen! For example: you succeed firing your blaster at an opponent but the advantage dice work against you so you have to reload your weapon. Or you're trying to talk with a council and fail, but the advantage allows you to impress other leaders which give you other options to get the same results.
Or potentially different results that still work in your favor It's such a flexible system in regards to story telling and character actions It's actually rather a novel system in that regard
Yes plus it actually allows the player to have some choice in the matter. You can use the advantage dice for some actions. GM gets the final say, but you have more input into the whole thing. I feel it gives more options that way! I know when I GM sometimes the roll goes the complete opposite of what you expect and can throw you off. Plus you can't forget about light and dark side points! The player uses the lights side while the GM uses the dark side. When one is used it switches to the opposite side, like a seesaw. Light helps your rolls by upgrading advantage dice, while dark side upgrades threat dice. It's very interesting how it all plays out. And it's truly easier to play than to describe it.
So I'm very interested in playing in or possibly running a Star Wars game with the new system (undecided which book i want). If either of you would be interested in playing or gming, I could be swayed into participating in a one shot or a few sessions. I genuinely need to learn the dice system though.
As long as you're okay with a force-sensitive Kushiban who doesn't know what the force is or what they do is force related Then I could be down for such a thing
