Lockon should be removed. Smart pistols should be smart bullets and have some semi tracking to target.......like this, except not a starship... Around 2:40 you see how the rounds arc and chase targets center of mass
I'm ok with autolock mostly...I'd only like 2 changes. 1.) When you power attack, you can't change directions, even if you engage the lock halfway through any of the animations. The second you charge, you're going that direction. 2.) Rolls are always lateral. No more of this circle roll shit that doesn't even make sense. If you roll/boost, you go in a straight line to the sides/back/forward.
Definitely not, because the JPA sidearm is exactly that, a sidearm. Whilst you can win a melee duel with a knife if you know your melee.
Lock-On has been better in the past, and by that I mean less dependable and more easily countered. Meta was complex and while the floor was still low the ceiling was much much higher, both for ranged and melee classes engaged in melee. It's silly saying a working Lock system negates skillful gameplay btw. Years of Souls has disproved that. What is hurting EC's blend of melee-shooter most is that we have such a reliable aimbot and less options, effectively dumbing down the CQC quite a lot. And it's not fun I barely play melee anymore. Tact is more engaging. Agreed obviously based on my vocal QQ elsewhere, but halfway through the charge-up would be sufficient for me. That's where it was back around Founder's 16-18. Point 2 i'm not down with. Melee is already flat footed and linear as hell. More mobility is my crusade atm.
Just so you know...those "sidearms" do the exact same damage, and have the same DPS, of a Standard Bolter or Plasmagun. Assuming of course you're within melee range like you should be, and let's face it, being in melee range for a melee character has no downsides in the melee category.
Perhaps but, the ability to roll behind an opponent so stupidly easy...is just annoying to me. Especially as a Ranged player. To put it into perspective, a Melee opponent who can just roll behind me for a backstab, is like if I had an ability that just aimed my Ranged weapon at someone's head before they fired. I'd actually be ok with giving melee a +1 on their stamina/rolls again, as long as those rolls were lateral.
I use auto lock on melee all the time with every class I can I want it on all classes every 1 needs a side arm in fact I try not to use a class that can't Lock on. I would probably leave the game if they take it out get a refund if I can as the game won't be the same as I payed for. Last time I played i used Lock on as a eldar dire Avenger and killed a tactical an JPA and a ground assaults with a shield 1 after the over using Dbash fast attacks rolling and smart pistol fire I ended up being killed because a dark reaper shot me. The smart pistols make Lock on better they are weeker but there worth taking. I think that all classes need pistols so all can switch to them and can lock on
I know but Bash pivots better than it ever has before and Evade Attacks are so broken that the melee player can only possibly activate them at exactly 180 degrees (not sure on JPs tbh, but GA/Supports definitely). Most weapons don't get rear hitbox multipliers on that evade attack. Any that do shouldn't. The rear hitbox is far too big atm if the dummys are accurate for player characters. Melee is just so static, linear and boring atm. I suspect we would need to be able to move a lot more freely if circle evading and Lock were gutted overnight and Fast Attack would need it's forced movement removed. Like an entirely different system.
The point was, evading with a JP without lock sends you way out of melee range, which is when you get blasted to hell by any class with a ranged weapon, as Bolt pistols are very inaccurate.
Yes, Space Marine and it does perfectly fine without it seriously if someone needs aimbot to hit a target properly with a melee attack then he just need to GIT GUD
