I'm more worried about your fusion pistols, jesus those are shite.

Every range nerf makes melee that much stronger/more viable and the game that much harder to balance.

Don't know if anyone has noticed but before release of the game autocannon could kill at any distance now it's range locked and can't kill all the way across map. Also I don't use AC much anymore only when heavily defending even so it takes more skill with accuracy to properly kill enemies effectively ,head shots.
Ben if it's 3 shots most of the time that gives people time to find cover with the rof it has granted they arnt in absolute open.
That and the net code lag

Are you suggesting people will no longer take the (possibly nerfed) AC and switch over to GA/JPA instead? Even a nerfed AC would be better at long ranged area denial than a melee unit standing in the doorway.
Or are you perhaps saying that the (possibly nerfed) AC will no longer be able to drop incoming melee units?

As someone who thinks ACs are absolutely ludicrous, I still think it's way too early to just go ahead on a schedule of supposed weapon balance when the prospective changes to connection quality have not even been implemented yet. This smacks of kneejerk reaction and helps noone. It is good to have a list to check things off of. It is not good to check off items that depend on other items before those other items have been implemented and monitored.

Let me just tell you that I am sick and tired of people singing this tune. As it seems, any change to any faction right now is brought about to strenghten LSM, not because it is needed, but because LSM whined loud enough. LSM weren't the only ones saying the AC is bullshit as it currently stands, disregarding the fact that there are other, more broken things in the game. I would also like to know how a supposed AC nerf constitutes pandering to LSM. Last time I checked, you have the same plasma cannons and heavy bolters that LSM do, and the grav cannon has neither the range nor comparable damage to the AC vs infantry.

LSM get it. We're not one of the cool factions. We're overrun with young and/or new and/or bad players. But we're not as overrepresented numerically on the forums as we are in the game, and suggesting our concerns are being treated preferentially is a bit silly at best.

The change will involve increasing the bullets to kill by 1 (decreasing the damage per hit whilst increasing the rate of fire).

The DPS will remain unchanged. I realise that the latency is a concern and would like to see if this small change to the alpha damage is in the direction of helping those most afflicted; as I, of course, do not fix the netcode. It is not just Space Marine players who have expressed the inability to react before dying to an Autocannon.

Of course, changing the BTK by 1 means that heat, spread and recoil per shot will have to be reduced so that the increased RoF does not have unintended negative effects. Afterall, keeping those values the same while increasing the RoF means the weapon will overheat, spread and recoil to an unusable level faster. So in the patch notes, you will see multiple values being adjusted, but hopefully you can see how these different values are impacted by one another.

So I assure you, this one little change will only ask you to hit an additional time. Within the same span of time. People have asked that for smaller incremental changes and short of not doing anything at all, I am trying to respect that here.

The range is supposed to be identical to all other weapons in the game, and a Heavy Bolter should not be able to damage something at a distance at which the Autocannon is not. If this is to the contrary, please report this as a bug: http://www.eternalcrusade.com/contact

There is no special vendetta against heavy weapons.
I actually want future maps to be more heavy weapon users friendly in certain areas of their layout.
I want the capture areas to not force ranged users to enter spaces where their range means nothing.

    Ok?

We'll all have long writing careers, because *gasp* values in the game will be tweaked; but let's keep (most of) the fighting to the battlefield. As much as I enjoy the cheap jab at your mortal enemies, I would be most appreciative more information I can make use of. If you find a weapon overpowered, is it in certain parts of the map or everywhere, etc.

I'm also trying to communicate more (says the guy up at 4am on Sunday); let's not nail me to a cross every time I do. I'm trying to build a rapport.

    Thanks!

Both plasma and AC should have been nerfed months ago, on the next patch after they got released to be accurate. They are broken as hell, how people dare to complain for this? Noble loadouts gets 3 shoted by AC in no time. A point protected by 2 well placed AC is a total pain to assault, bad players end games with 40+kills.

An ork shield helps vs heavy bolters, but try to use it under AC fire ... 1 hit, shield is broken and ork stuned waiting death.

Ork AC dakka is a low tier versión of CSM AC, kills people with 5-6 shots and I almost feel like im cheating when I use it...

Totally deserved nerfs, maybe for plasma cannon a bit too much stats at the same time.

It would probably ease concerns about communication and intention if the primary source of new information on the forums wasn't people posting screencaps of the discord. Your explanation that you are changing things just to show that you are changing things, while keeping the end-result the same (so you say) leads me to ask: why change it in the first place? That's not solving any problems, it's spinning the wheels to appear active.

You are so incredibly wrong about objective weapon stats that I can't take you seriously, guy. Besides that, the AC and HB have the same DPS, but the HB also suppresses; in your scenario at the start, how is having two ACs worse than two HBs covering a small area?
