So, as many of you know, you can unlock the Autarch Host-Leader as a hero class in the Rogue Trader store. This seems to imply that the AHL is melee, or at least CQC oriented. Since he's rather specialized I assume that means we'll have a normal Autarch hero available as well. Would this normal Autarch hero be ranged based? A jack of all trades? Personally I think it would be cool if you could customize your own Autarch with the Aspects of your choosing, but I suppose that would make having two Autarch heroes rather redundant. Let's discuss our masters of war.
why we need a range hero unless its anti armour/seer or a tanky character we have the best class for nailing infantry so far ranger = head shot autarch doesnt seem like hes that needed if im honest ranger i can actually see a use for with our current classes.
It LOOKS like the Ranger is going to be the ranged/versatile class and the Autarch is going to be the melee/versatile class. Both probably specializing in combat in regards to the melee/range variant of the special class Eldar are getting. That's how the other races seem to be doing it. We might get a more stealth-oriented role for the Ranger, though. That would mean that Autarch is likely more than just a melee-based class, then. I'm betting on it being a cookie-cutter melee/range sub classes so there isn't a dramatic difference between getting the special class and not getting it.
Hopefully they will let you kit the autarch a little more to your liking for example more infantry based or vehicle based same as the ranger. Some traps would be pretty cool for the ranger to be able to have.
We will probably get a fixed loadout autarch on launch of the game. I hope later on we will gain access to customizations. That is the appeal of autarchs for me anyway: the ability to combine and experiment with specific gear from multiple aspects.
well (as I'm sure you know since you're here) autarchs on the tt are meant to receive gifts from each of the aspect shrines after doing a set period of time there. If this is reflected in the game they will be the most customisable class we will have. Considering how good the devs have been with transferring TT rules and gameplay elements to the game I would be quite hopeful they get autarchs right
Fighting 'on the front lines' doesn't mean CQC. I think it is probably meant to imply that they can get stuck in where the fighting is thickest - they don't hang back and give orders from relative safety.
I just wanted to note, it has been stated that Founders Heroes will NOT have a customisable load out. They are specifically and intentionally locked in this way to make them more specialised and unique. That said I can't see the regular Autarch Hero lacking cusomtisability, it's kind of their thing, after all.
Even the Autarch on DoW had some ranged weapons to play around with. I do hope we can still customize there looks. Always liked the Autarch models on TT with helmets on.
Of course, it doesn't necessarily mean that, but that's kind of what it sounds like to me based on the way it's worded.
