Assault classes OP at the moment?

  1. What about we lock Assault classes with a hotfix, until melee works again?

    As long as you don't do it, people will abuse the shit out of it and ruin everyone elses fun. If it gets locked, only those people would be pissed (and honestly, i don't give even a tiny fruck about them)

    But this would enable us to play games that could even be fun, test new mechanics and how they influence combat.

    A fuel use for dmg vs a no fuel use for no dmg smaller aoe would be good wargear variations.
  3. The ground pound is admittedly a bit broken. It was laughably underpowered the previous 3 or 4 months, hopefully we can find a happy medium.

    Fast attacks are sneaking past the bash which is not supposed to happen.

    The main problem most are having is the fact that most are still trying to spam Dbash, expecting 100% invulnerability versus everything like we have seen the last 8 weeks. Those days are hopefully gone forever.

    Reintroduce yourselves to EC Melee and stop expecting Dbash to save you from Melee opponents 100% of the time. The bash is very situational, use it appropriately.

    Oh so it wasn't just me. Good to know I wasn't the only one who got repeatedly fisted, over and over again, by a group of 4-5 Raptors.

    And here I thought it was a new fetish the Slaanesh heretics came up with. :rolleyes:

  5. Sounds like you are a little pissed about D-Bash spam? ^^ That comes mostly from people who tried to RMB fast attack spam their way to victory. I know, a while the Charge attack was beaten by the defensive bash (as it never should be) but that statement can be easily turned against you ;)

    But right now, D-Bash does not reliably work. And if a melee character attacks me with a fast attack... what other choice do i have other than a D-Bash? He got the better melee weapon surely, so i can't outclang him, rolling away rubberbands you back into the attack and charge-attack gets countered again by a fast attack...

    Thats why i had to spam D-Bash time ago, because it was the only way to survive :( The situation has not changed, if you got a weaker melee weapon (I play ranged, Support and sometimes ground assault) D-bash is the one thing that still gives you a chance, no wonder it gets spammed... :/
  6. Sounds like you are talking out your ass and I really don't appreciate the assumptions.

    Fast attack spam, fast attack stun lock have been the bane of EC Melee for quite some time until the Bash started finally working properly. Unfortunately at the same time the bash also started giving 100% immunity versus strong attacks. Because of how totally broken this bash spam made Melee I haven't played the game in a live match more than an hour over the last 8 weeks or so until patch 20 went live. So you bet your ass I'm not happy, but not for the reasons you are assuming. And just FYI, I have spent endless hours testing builds on UAT or testing builds or mechanics out of combat on the EA server.

    I'm a fan of Melee mechanics working as advertised. When any one of the rock, paper rules aren't being followed, the entire system breaks. What's frustrating is knowing how well the system worked in the past.

    Our Melee concept is pretty cool and requires split second decisions according to the rock, paper, scissors design. It can punish button mashing spam attacks, and reward those who use the right move at the required time. The problem is those rules aren't working.

  7. Sorry man, this was in no way a mean to insult you personally, i guess im bad in writing sarcasm in english, so if you feel attacked i am honestly sorry, that was in no way my intention! :(

    You just have said what i have tried to say. IF all the mechanics would be working, we would have awesome melee, and we allready had really good melee duels in the past, where parts were broken, but so where others and they kinda canceled each other out.

    I a perfect world / patch, you would be able to beat everyone who just spams a type of attack, be it D-Bash or fast attack, and i can't wait for this to happen. The last thing we have do limit or tune is that circle-roll or circle-strafe then

    I agree, we should remove this possibility to circle-strafe. I mean, that's a jumpack, it means to do high jump with it, not flying around like a jet.

    I always thought the way the JA should fight, is the same way like in DOW. You use your jumpack to get close/in melee, but once in the fight, you fight like the others opponement, on your feet like a regular GA. But you need your jumpack to retreat, and in EC (for balance), you still have the possibility to dash on the sides, backward and forward.

    Power Fist is fine in strenght, but it should require more skill (like less faster, and no soft-lock).

    Low / Mid / High Altitude Manual Circle Evade:
    We can circle evade at alternative altitudes manually without Lock Mode Hold (not only is it much more effective, it gives more of an advantage as you take yourself out of Melee combat range to re-adjust and swoop back in with a leading quick attack taking control of the fight)

    Ulocked 90 degree evade:
    I'll also alternate between that and evading unlocked in a 90 degree angle to the left and / or right of my target to then swoop back in with a leading quick attack

    Locked Circle Evade:
    Sometimes I'll use the traditional locked circle evade but unlocked will more reliably get me out of the way of someones Dbash or attack. Its easy to get punished if we use this method. I rarely use this any more and would be fine for it to go.

    Ranged DPS reduction / hit detection error:?
    Not sure what happened with last patch, I think ranged dps may have dropped? I can sit there and land a good 20 hits with a Shurkein catapult / Bolter / Plasma gun and not kill my target. Feels like they do less damage or just don't land.
