Thats allot of insults for someone who claims he isnt trying to insult. But yeah, as others said, its a side-effect or not thinking a different nerf through, so the Flickering Fire caught the same nerf flak.
Worth it as long as you don't bother with the offensive pyschic power side of things. Lash is about the most usable offensive spell we have but you need to gitrealgud to be able to get your moneys worth out of it.

Long story short the LSM bitched and moaned about Abadon's grace, an autocannon that applied a heat debuff. So the devs nerfed the heat debuff across the board causing several other weapons to become terrible (most of which were other LSM weapons, irony they name is space marine). TL;DR flickering fire was an accidental casualty in LSM's war against anything that stops their power fantasy.

Stop this fantasy of yours about LSM crusade to nerf everyone to the ground. First it is untrue we don't wanna fight helpless papous with sharp mangoes, we want to have a fight on equal basis to prove our superiority. Second point are you sure of your counts? How many threads Eldar particularly have create with sole purpose of merfing LSM? Fucking many! For most of the time the only free bitching salt faction was the Orks... but times are changing, aren't they? We all have bias concerning our preferred faction, LSM were quite underpowered few time before launch, Eldar were steamrolling everyone at a time prior that they were the bottom of the barrel. As in TT factions having their new Codex overpowered the previous one... it is a circle, the goal is to make this level gap the shorter possible.
