Isn't Illic a ranger? They leave the craftworlds entirely, so they're definitely not following the paths.

No A shrine is like a Dojo it could have 20 or 200 members no idea what made you think they were that scimp if they were then why would would they need to make the distinction between squad and shrine?

A war mask is not the Eldar's helmet. It's a mental state they enter to block certain emotions to improve combat efficiency while blocking memories of what they've done. An Eldar fighting without their helmet is completely feasible, albeit, not exactly wise.

(Do tell if I've confused your statement, I may simply have misread, as a war mask is different from their "helmet".)

Thanks for the input so far.

Given that each Aspect is visually distinct from one another are there any visual assets (not colours) that you could see being shared between the Aspects?

Runes related to Khaine or their craftworld could be shared by different aspects.

Runes to Khaine could be shared by all aspects, as they are all aspect warriors of Khaine himself. Even Dire Avengers who have a little thing for Asuryan.

Other things than that, maybe some loin-clothing and bling.

Indeed, aspect temple runes would definitely be the common element between them all.

Wearing their soul gems would also be a common element between them and all Eldar, but some models have more than just one soul gem on them, or at least different types of gems. Having options to change the array and amount of gems on armor could be a cool way to add variety.

And for the most part, helmets and special wargear aside, Aspect Warrior armor is pretty similar between all aspects, having a light variant (Dire Avengers, Howling Banshees, Swooping Hawks) and heavy variant (Striking Scorpions, Warp Spiders, Fire Dragons, Dark Reapers). The chest pieces are pretty much the same for all of them, mostly only differentiating themselves by being designed for male of female warriors.

  8. That is correct the war mask the Aspect warrior dons is not the same as the physical mask they use. The war mask is an aspect of the Eldar physique that allows them to give into their primal urges and blood lust and allows them to go into a warrior like mode that just like a physical mask can be removed, unless the warrior is an Exarch then they lose themselves to the path of the warrior and find it hard to take the mask off. These Eldar are always in a "Wheres the next fight mode"

Getting back to visual customization of Aspect Warriors, I think execution moves or taunt moves or even idle animations would make up for a good field on which to add some variety. Other than that, helmet and pauldrons designs are the first thing that pop into my mind, as they would be probably the first noticable element in thick of gameplay. I think another good idea would be to be able to engrave or colour your armour with different patterns. Nothing too fancy, of course. They are soldiers, after all. Lastly - an array of accessories attached to the helmet (a comm attachment), pauldrons or knee-caps (some rune-shaped emroidery), belt (a shuriken pistol holster or a wraithbone knife sheath)

As for what visual assets could be common to all aspects - on top of runes, I imagine soulstone colouring could be a thing. Aside from that, I guess armour design is the obvious choice, to a certain degree. I can imagine some elements being present among all aspects of a particular Craftworld.

On reflection, I'd like to see options along the lines of:
    • * Shades & subtle patterns in the primary colourations of the Aspects, including ability to select colouration that looks like the popular Eldar-painting technique of airbrushing fading from one colour to another from a number of directions.
    • * Substantial variation in colours available in secondary placings like edging of armour, colour of materials other than the primary armour panels.
    • * Colours & effects on the soul gems (effects could be things like polish, sparkle, glowing, a pinprick of light from within the gem, that kind of thing).
    • * Decorations hanging from chains like runes/gems, designs of them, colour/materials of them.
    • * Weapons customisation in much the same manners as above.
    • * Various Craftworld symbols available for placement on armour.
    • * Detailed decoration in various colours/materials for various armour panels (etching, gilding, etc).
That's all that comes to mind without having read the responses here beforehand. :)
