I'd just say to the art department, don't be afraid about being creative with this race. The lore says that the Eldar were taken down by their pleasures. Creativity in some sense was their undoing. Lots of armour variants within aspects would give the Eldar the right feel. I've always felt that GW artists would inevitably follow their less timid artists with this race.

  2. As long as I can play around with the colour scheme to a reasonable degree I have no preference. Obviously not gonna make a Fire Dragon blue but making my helmet a different colour then my armour is a pretty big deal to me.

Little armor differences like shoulder pads and mild helmet changes would be nice to.

The thing to note about Aspect shrines is that each shrine will have its own name and color scheme, and each shrine will only house a limited number of members of that Aspect, with the majority of shrines having a single squad, but every Craftworld will have hundreds of these shrines from which to comprise its Warhosts, so having color customization would be perfectly viable, technically, as the colors shown in codexes and such are simply the largest, and most famous shrines (which may even have shrines on multiple Craftworlds, bearing the same name and color scheme), such as the Silvered Blade for Dire Avengers. Although with some each Aspect they tend to have a color...theme, with Dire Avengers sticking to mainly blues, Striking scorpions to greens, ect. In short i think color customization shouldn't be thrown out of the picture, and armor personalisation is perfectly fine

I've never played Eldar in anything other then Dawn of war 1-2, and there the only race that compares to Tau in terms of Infantry maneuverability and I really want to play as Tau but have to wait XD, here is what I see as a Tau comparison, any feed back would be nice XD

Point for point, or Unit Roll

    Eldar

      • Dire Avenger~=Fire warrior with a EMP grenade upgrade
      • Fire Dragon~=Stealth suit with a fusion blaster but over point by 13 over
      • Dark Reaper~=Broad Side with high yield missle pods but 30 over
      • Swooping Hawk = Vespid Stingwings
      • Howling Banshee,-not really anything Tau don't do close combat XD
      • Striking Scorpion,-not really anything Tau don't do close combat XD
      • Warlock, Nothing, Tau hate pykers

o_O I don't understand. This is a visual customization thread for Eldar. Visual being cosmetic things. You can use the search function to find Tau threads and if none are shown then you can make one. Even make a recruitment thread for Tau enthusiasts just as a group of Necrons have done. Just so long as it's understood that they won't be in the game at launch to avoid confusion.

It's going to be a long wait until any additional factions join the war but in a few popularity poll threads Tau have pulled out on top followed closely by Necrons.

Well, especially in tabletop Tau and Eldar are...very different, Eldar are focused around specialization, each unit fulfilling a clearly defined battlefield role, and there are more aspects than those you listed. Dire Avengers are fast-moving, anti-infantry unit designed to sweep in and hit the enemy as your front-line troops, which differs from Fire Warriors, as Fire Warriors function best in a uniform gunline pumping out as many shots as possible. Fire Dragons are more heavily armored than stealth suits, and are designed to do maximum damage to vehicles with the minimum number of shots (even having special rules that improve this). Dark Reapers are, originally, static, high powerful anti-heavy infantry units, capable of cutting down any infantry in their arc of fire and having reasonable durability, although recently they've also gained considerable anti-tank firepower with its new ammunition variant. Swooping Hawks function similarly to Vespid, specializing in hit-and-run attacks with fast firing ranged firepower, but its also highly beneficial for a Swooping Hawks unit to move on and off the battlefield, making use of their grenade packs as often as possible, as its a quite powerful weaponm, as they otherwise lack heavy firepower. Howling Banshees, while not always useful in tabletop (although the latest codex has made them far more useful) they function best as a close combat shock troop, and will do best in combats they can end quickly and efficiently, instead of getting bogged down in a drawn out combat, which their ability to target morale and scatter the enemy greatly supports. Striking Scorpions are stealth troops that are designed to slip in and target the weak points in an enemy army, cutting carefully through the enemy lines, having durability and strength bonuses over their howling banshee counterparts. The other major Aspect Shrines you missed are the Warp Spiders, who specialize in incredibly rapid, high risk hit-and-run assaults that can fell the hardiest of targets, The Shining Spears, a jetbike-riding spearhead unit designed to cut directly into the heart of an enemy army with a powerful lance charge, and the forge-world exclusive Shadow Specters, in effect functioning as a mixture of Striking Scorpions and a Fire Prism grav-tank, a longer ranged anti-tank/anti heavy infantry unit capable of focusing their fire together into singular, far more powerful blasts. Warlocks are, in effect, potential Farseers in training, they walk the path of the Seer (where all the Aspect Shrines walk the path of the Warrior), but have not utterly dedicated themselves to this path and thus, not become Farseers, in essence Farseers and Warlocks fill a very similar combat role, but in practice tend to not only compliment each other well, but find greater use in differing situations because of their varied psychic powers, each having their own full host of offensive, defensive and support psychic powers to augment their own troops, protect them from fire or remove threats to their objectives. This forms the general infantry core of any Eldar Warhost, although they may be supported with Guardians and their weapon platforms, and by Wraith-class units such as Wraithguard, with vehicles then comprising the rest of the force, with their own roles in of itself.
