Here y'go, for your GM perusal:

    Name:
    Linaya Talathriel
    Age: (150+) 230
    Gender: female
    Craftworld: Biel-Tan
    Aspect: Striking Scorpion
Wargear: Shuriken Pistol, Scorpion Chainsword, Mandiblaster, Plasma Grenade (x1 per mission) Aspect Armor

Non-Aspect Personality: Linaya is a little inimdated by the prospect of learning from one so ancient and experienced - and lost on the Path - as an Exarch, but she is keen to learn everything it can teach her about herself. When not in Aspect she is cultivating her artisitic side, and often paints or draws in her spare time in order to help balance the heady emotions of warfare. In an effort to learn how to manage and control - and use and deploy - her inner anger and violence, she has taken the Scorpion Path as she believes it will assist her in channelling her more negative emotions and feelings in positive ways.

Linaya is usually quite friendly and positive when not in Aspect, but she can become introspective and often seeks to know the meaning behind things. She is a keen student of Eldar history and mythology. She has successfully walked the Paths of the Archivist, the Crafter (specialising in glassware), the Systems Engineer and the Botanist (her first Path), so this is her fifth. Next she hopes to take a Seer Path, and the control she desires to learn on her current Path is partly in preparation for this.

She is of average height for an Eldar, with green eyes and long blonde hair, which she ties back and up when in Aspect or training. She wears shades of earth tones and greens when not in armour, often casual painting clothes which may bear traces of paint if she has been working on a particularly involving project.

Aspect Personality: (How one acts when wearing the war mask) Under the Aspect, she strives to be the Scorpion - a stealthy and patient hunter, moving silently into place until the killing blow can be struck. She is fairly new to the Path, so she hopes to learn and master the art from her Exarch, in whose skill she has implicit faith.

History: (Optional, Please Develop In RP if blank) To be developed!

Relationships: (Known acquaintances in the craftworld; Romantic Interests/Mates; ETC) Unattached at present to any kind of romantic interest - if one happens along, so be it! - and without close family nearby on the Craftworld - her parents are on the Path of the Diplomat and the Pilot respectively, and are at present on trade missions for Biel-tan with other Craftworlds. She is currently an only child. Several friends from her saensirrian (group of peers growing up) that she keeps in contact with and socialises with. She is also keen to get to know her squad out of Aspect and away from training as she believes this will make for a stronger squad.

    @Colapse OK here's my best shot :)
Yes, you could certainly be older than the Exarch (if I understand it right and you mean "than the physical age of the current Exarch's body"), as you do not have to be a certain age to take an Aspect Path (just an adult). The only lore on Eldar ages states unhelpfully that they "commonly survive for over a thousand years before old age overtakes them" and I believe it even speculates on them not dying of old age at all once. Oh, and the age of adulthood is approximately 100. I work to a baseline of 1,000 years of life myself as it's the only thing close to a statistic GW have seen fit to give us, BUT of course they have also featured Eldrad in events spanning at least 10k years, so ...

It doesn't matter if you are older because unless you are extremely old, you won't be frailer, so I'd say go to town if you want to be several hundred years old :) It'll be sort of like being a mature student at University, in a way. Your age and experience in other Paths will stand you in good stead from the sheer amount of life events you have witnessed.

You could easily have taken more than one Warrior Path in your long lifetime. It's by no means automatic or expected to become an Autarch, which I think is one of the rarer Paths anyway. Not only would it make sense that a person might feel the need to return to the War Path, it's also featured in the novel Valedor for a bit of semi-canon backup :) And as each Aspect Path teaches different things, it would be appropriate to take more than one if needed, though it might cause concern if your character took them too often.

I personally find it very plausible :) He could be looking to purge his guilt, better manage his anger, learn to channel his desire for revenge healthily, become more martially proficient to better defend those he loves, etc etc. There are many reasons to take an Aspect Path, not all of them linked to war immediately. The only thing I'll say about joining the Aspects is that - and not with reference to your guy here but generally - just as in our own military it is possible to fail psychological evaluation, so it must logically be with the Eldar. If someone is obvious lost on the Path material then they are not going to just be handed guns. I'm sure it's not foolproof, but don't even get me started on the Path of the Warrior book ...

My opinions, as informed by the lore as I can make them :)

@Uriel1339 actually I'm going to find a way to convert a Codex into spray form and spray official lore into your ears as you sleep. :p

I was looking back at some of the OOC and saw this part of @Colapse character idea:
I don't have a problem with it, I was just wondering if there was a good raid on Biel-Tan that would fit that?

Which actually leads me into another question. What should the timeframe of this RP be? I know that some RPs (@Colapse Road of Blood for example [First RP ever here. Thanks again, Col! I wish I had had more time, especially to build on his relationship with Draconian (@Draconion) and Feron (@DeranVendar) but, such was Temero's lot] and @Uriel1339 Phoenix Enclave) have been done in M42. as far as I can tell, there isn't much, if any, official lore there. So I was wondering if we should do this here as well. Which would also help with the above question.

Hi everyone. I'd like to join in, if it's possible. I've written up a character but put it in spoilers, not because it is an actual spoiler, but because it's quite long. So here he is. I hope this is okay @BadDo9

    Name:
    Ladornarr
    Age: 325
    Gender: Male
    Craftworld: Biel-Tan
Aspect: Striking Scorpions (Shadowed Blade Shrine)
Wargear: Shuriken Pistol, Scorpion Chainsword, Mandiblaster, Plasma Grenade (x1 per mission), Aspect Armour

    Non-Aspect Personality:
Ladornarr is jovial and welcoming to everyone that he meets, and his generally pleasant personality leaves an agreeable impression on everyone he talks to. He talks pleasantly and acts with the vigour of an Eldar half his age, while holding himself with a casual pride, enough to appear welcoming but slightly paternal at the same time and he enjoys speaking with the language of his toned body and the subtle inflections of his rich melodious voice.

His slate grey eyes, though, betray a constantly vigilant person who has had training on the Path of Awakening. He watches those around him for the smallest gestures and listens for the slightest inflections in the voices of others. This is not done out of spite or to catch people out but to see and understand the world that exists around him, and his friends know that Ladornarr enjoys the hidden gestures and extra meanings one can give when two people converse with more than just words.

    Aspect Personality:
Ladornarr becomes razor sharp when the red war mask of Khaine takes over his personality. His actions are measured and precise and each movement, whether of his body or his weapons shows signs of having been practiced until they reached a state of near perfection, but despite this practice they show little sign of being mechanical but instead flow gracefully and naturally with the combat he participates in and they show many tell-tale signs of someone who favours sudden surprising actions and feints in his combat style.

The war mask is a solid and unyielding divide for Ladornarr and his long tutorage in the Riders of Khaine on spiritual matters has ensured that he understands and controls the partitions that he has placed in his mind to prevent him falling to the lure of Khaine. He has walked the Path of the Warrior before and understands the perils and the temptations that it holds. No Eldar truly ever overcomes the temptations of Khaine, and Ladornarr is no exception but he knows when to reign himself in and when to let himself go.

    History:
Ladornarr was born on Biel-Tan, his father is Saimen of the Path of the Scholar and his mother is Ruinis who treads upon the Path of the Artist. Both were careful parents who gave Ladornarr plenty of space and freedom to grow as his wished while instilling a great sense of respect for the race in which he had been born. The first Path that he trod upon was the Path of Awakening, for the youth was convinced that if the world was out there for him to see, he would drink in every single part of it. While his desires were tempered on this path to prevent him noticing in excess, the time on the Path was well spent as he picked up many habits that can be clearly seen in his thoughts and actions to this day. As the secrets of the world around him unfolded to his ever careful gaze he watched the pulse of the world, he saw the sway of the trees in the breeze, he heard the rhythm of the conversations he partook in and he felt the beat of the Craftworld’s heart. At the dusk of his time on the Path of Awakening Ladornarr was listening to the world around him as he wandered the domes of the Craftworld, fate brought him to the domes where the musicians practice their art. The musicians were graceful with their many varied instruments and differing talents, and the Awakened Ladornarr astutely listened to their harmonies rise and fall.

It was only after the 13th day/night cycle of sitting in front of the same musician that the two finally talked, and it felt hollow to Ladornarr. He had listened to Anahar Dawncrest communicate with more than just words, in ways that the voice couldn’t replicate. The first words out of Ladornarr mouth when the two finally conversed were ‘Can you teach me to create such beauty as you have made?’ With a simple nod, night fell upon Ladornarr’s time on the Path of the Awakening and dawn rose upon his time on the Path of the Musician. Ladornarr spent the many long years on the Path of the Musician, studying each of the various types of music and their instruments with a passion and dedication. For he truly desired to bring great wonders to people’s minds with the power of his music and his works were outstanding and breath-taking in their elegance.

Something stirred in his soul at the dusk of his time on the Path of the Musician. He regularly played haunting tunes that harkened back to ages past. The stories of ancient warriors, glorious in their vestments and deeds, started a fire in Ladornarr’s heart that made him restless with simply retelling the past glories. Instead he hungered to create new glories of his own. Fate brought an Eldar named Ilendir to Ladornarr’s final performance; she was a warrior of the Shrine of The Riders of Khaine who, recognising the undertones of restlessness and desire to grow in Ladornarr’s works gently offered him a chance to visit the Shrine. Her beauty and his restlessness drew the curtain on his time on the Path of the Musician.

Ladornarr’s years in the Shrine was spent practicing the deadly art under the guidance of his Exarch. The youthful exuberance and willingness to learn made him a good student, even if he was lacking in restraint and had grand ideas about the heroic nature of the path. Ladornarr mastered the physical nature of the Aspect with great speed and he could perfectly replicate any of the manoeuvres that were asked of him very early on, but it took some time for him to truly master the war mask that every Aspect Warrior puts on, and as a result he spent many of his earlier fights deliberately left waiting on the craftworld. His training was heavily focused on the mental, psychological and spiritual aspects of the shrine in the early to middle years of his time, to ensure that his grasp of what was war and what was peace was firmly in place in his mind.

In the twilight years of Ladornarr’s time in the Aspect it had not grown old for him, in fact the desires that drew him to the shrine still burned strong in his breast. Having ridden with his fellow warriors for many years now and having carved out small reputation for being a diligent student and a dedicated warrior amongst his peers, he moment of realisation happened after he had rode against those that would invade a Maiden World under Biel-Tan’s protection. When he removed his war mask the realisation hit him like a thunderbolt, much like the assaults he was used to giving, the thrill of the hunt was beginning to call to him strongly. His battles were no longer a necessary thing to cleanse the craftworld of its enemies, but it was something more, something that worried Ladornarr deeply.

Ladornarr immediately talked to his Exarch about his worries. The Exarch, as was to be expected of a Shining Spear Exarch, was straight to the point and brutally honest. If Ladornarr stayed he would be consumed by Khaine, but if he left he would grow anew and stronger because of his revelation. With a heavy heart Ladornarr departed and said goodbye to his fellows of the shrine, and he looked towards the Path of the Sculptor.

The Path of the Sculptor was a process of growth for him as he helped shape the ornaments that would adorn the many domes of the Craftworld. As he carefully shaped the statues, and brought life to their subjects he found peace in his soul that he was so close to losing beforehand. He had weathered a fierce storm of doubt, worry and rage by diligently learning all that he could about the workings of a sculptor. With each new sculpture he brought peace to his troubled mind and centred himself by seeing the admiration of those who witness his sculptures. But what started as pleasant conversations between him and those that looked at his works gradually evolved into something different. Ladornarr would, instead of conversing about the sculptures with the admirers, would sit back and watch the viewers of his works. It was after the third time that he caught himself hiding from the view of those around him that he sat and considered his place in the world and his position in his life.

The sculptures had stopped being his primary interest; the reactions of those he surprised became his main focus in the twilight years of the Path of the Sculptor. Having felt the call of Khaine upon his soul before, Ladornarr realise that he must seek out a method of controlling this newest of urges. He carefully and meticulously travelled through the various shrines of the craftworld, with none calling to his soul. It was only when he stood in front of the gates to the shrine of the Shadowed Blade that Ladornarr knew this was his fate. Though he has been with the Shrine a short time, only 16 years, he constantly trains and works to master himself and the craft of death that he delivers as a Striking Scorpion.

    Relationships:

Anahar Dawncrest (Path of the Musician. Mentor, long-time friend and confidant)
Ilendir (Aspect Warrior of the Riders of Khaine. Friend and, during his time on the Path of the Sculptor, lover)
Saimen (Path of the Scholar, Father, Originally of Biel-Tan)
Ruinis (Path of the Artist, Mother, Originally of Saim-Hann)

@Jorimel I really appreciate the thorough answer, it's much more clear now!

@BadDo9 I'll drop a sheet a bit later, but as for your question about time frame, this shouldn't be something to worry about, place it in any point in time you want. The reason me and Urian did 42k is because his original DW started around the start of 42nd and I wanted to keep on with the continuity, especially since RoB was in the same "universe". And since him and me have sort of an unspoken arrangement about head cannon - mostly if not all things we write here happened in the same "universe" in order to keep it more clean and interesting.

Looks good! And I don't think we've RPed before, so I'm glad to meet you!

    @Colapse

Thanks. I'll try and think of something.

    @Jorimel @Uriel1339

Looking over @Nurianis character made me remember something. Eldar, being the 'emotional' creatures they are, speak with their body language and such speaking as much, if not more, than the words themselves.

My question is, do Exarchs worry about that as much? And the more important one is if we need to add such things on a regular basis as we RP, or if we can just speak 'normally'. I.E, only really mention tone if it is different than would be expected and/or is important.

    Name: Valerian
    Age: 1241
    Gender: Male
    Craftworld: Biel-Tal
    Aspect: Striking Scorpion
Wargear: Shuriken Pistol, Scorpion Chainsword, Mandiblaster, Plasma Grenade (x1 per mission) Aspect Armor

Non-Aspect Personality: Used to be quite cheerful and charming, in love with everything the life had in store for him and interested in experiencing as many paths as possible so he could better serve the craftworld and his friends. Now, he became a bit moody, although he tries to suppress such feelings with word and mind games, not allowing anyone to see what lies in the core and hoping to battle through it alone, for the deep down he believes this is yet one more (dark) phase in his life.

Aspect Personality: (How one acts when wearing the war mask) He takes an aspect of a merciless killer, able to patiently stalk his prey and kill it when it least expects. His anger became cold and sharp, not caring about other races or their needs for there is only the Eldar. It also doesn't mean he charges into battle heedlessly, in fact he applies cold logic and precision to his every action, thinking thoroughly before acting but if there is an option of slaying the enemies of the craftworld (especially mon'keigh for he loathes them above all else), he would not shy away from it.

    History
: Being one of the Eldar who walked the roads of this universe for a longer period of time, Valerian seen many things it had to offer. Contrary to some of his older friends, his interest didn't lie in the path of the Warrior, although he did travel it on two occasions during his youth as an Aspect Warrior of Dire Avengers shrine and Shining Spears shrine. Instead, he was more interested in art, diplomacy and pursue of ancient knowledge, lore and history of the craftworld Eldar. During his time as a diplomat (which later on became the path he was most passionate about) he met the woman who later on became love of his life. They spent many cycles together and eventually even had a daughter together as well as a good life, at least as good as possible in this dark millennium.

However it was all shattered as, during one of his travels to another craftworld, the forces of Imperium led by their Space Marines, attacked the ship (OOC intentionally going with that here because I'm not sure if Space Marines raided Biel-Tal at all) on which his family and most of the close friends were at the moment and they were all killed. Valerian blamed himself for not being there to help his wife and child, despite knowing he would have probably died with them for he was no warrior, his instincts lied dormant and ignored and it had been so for quite many years. Still, the grief and guilt haunted him afterwards so he decided to channel his inner sorrow and join the path of the Warrior anew and hopefully wash his sins in the fire of battle, maybe even get a revenge while at it.

Relationships: His family as well as his friends died so at the moment, he doesn't have anyone close to him. He is also not interested in any kind of love relationship, as for friendship that is not something that preoccupies his mind at the moment but wouldn't act like an ass just because. It just means it might take a bit longer for him to open up, especially to younger generation of Eldar.

@BadDo9 I'm sorry, but I do not believe I will be joining this RP after all. I've tried for a few days now, but I just can't conjure a character, and forcing myself to do so will just lead to me losing interest rather quick.
