exactly!!! Yet I think that is of secondary importance compared to what I have noticed is that most of the players don't even know the names of the maps, which means there is so little in terms of exposing the lore of the game (names of places, and their story) that even people playing this game don't know what it is about!
Prometheum refinery I used for all kind of stuff from bacteriological weapons to fuel for tanks/flyers, its a combustible energy so I'm assuming that a refinery is some sort of facility that can help secure supplies for the war. It isn't important per se (they wouldn't send marines just to take that back), but if they are cut off from supplies or need to secure additional assets to establish a front and a solid base on arkhona it makes sense to avoid over reliance on aerial supply. torias and olipsis are refineries some are described as assault station or defense station or just station (maggon, blackbolt, pegasus) They seem to have communication arrays (for long range communication both on ground and in space) and some form of military supplies (arsenal/tanks). medusa is a communication relay and seem to have a cloning facility, zedek too, zedek look like a former city. Fortresses were likely both a place of administration, overall command, military base, air defense (they all have maccro cannons) and could help create an aerial denial zone. From a warzone perspective, they all look like important assets to help win the war, but do not justify said war (we have seen a sacred shrine, holy relic, manufactorum of either weapon/tanks/titans, etc. If it was a forge world it would make a lot of sense, but if it was previously a hive world wiped clean, makes no sense to try to retake it if everyone is dead. Hive worlds are used for tithe, to get the manpower, if there are no man left alive...well... There is surely a secret weapon of mass destruction, some weird experimentation, something that could turn the war, a demon imprisoned, or something of the like, but that I'm unsure if it was stated in the story or just refered too.
Totally agree... But lets talk about it trying to be realistic... Game pushed for release, with so many features missing. I suppose it needs about 4-5 months to reach the state it should be in right now. Then still so much content to place. However this background could be it will not change reviews. And fixes / content could do it. So probably we will have to wait a long time for this.
yes and no... I am always for having the gameplay features optimization and implementation as priority above everything else, however... I do not think implementing some texts about what is going on, and why is it going on and WHERE is it going on, not to mention -with who involved is it going on - kind of things would cost them too much of an effort, I dont see why it could not be implemented along other changes. i really appreciate your input, this is exactly what I was hoping for. Since devs are occupied with obviously everything else (for a reason), I at least hope that wh40k hobbyists will forge the lore around the game (worst case scenario), or the player base could help brainstorm those things for the devs to inspire themselves. I mean seriously, a simple contest for inventing interesting locations or parts of Arkhona's lore should be held, I am sure you guys have some steam key's to spare, and this could help the game alot in my opinion. @KatieFleming @Oveur
One thing we do know that at least in one fortress warzone there was some heavy anti-titan weaponry use, as one map is quite literally littered with charred Warhound titan corpses. This could have very well been a last stand by Mechanicus located on the planet, or just an untimely battleground to fight in (it's the bigarse Siege map, I'm not sure of names for maps presently :S) Another detail in another map I discovered was a room in one of the side buildings on another, with Imperium Inquisition markings on some obvious stocks and blacked Space Marine armor (chaos or loyalist I know not, it's the default scrapped power armor model) strapped into these massive stocks... admittedly only via chest but hey. Image evidence of both: http://steamcommunity.com/profiles/76561198002556639/screenshot/258217802746840356 Inquisitorial Stockades http://steamcommunity.com/profiles/76561198002556639/screenshot/258218890824707836 Warhound corpse nearest to Attacker spawn. There's literally loads of them in that map, mostly on the wall exterior.
For starters, the Imperial Fists are a fleet-based chapter, so they aren't stationed in any one segmentum. Second, the Sentinels of Terra supplement states that the Imperial Fists, much like the Black Templars, are also on a permanent crusade to rid the galaxy of anyone who does not praise the Emprah. So their presence can be explained. Much harder to explain what the Blood Angels are doing there considering their homeworld is being destroyed during roughly the same timeframe.
