Not even taking the 40k aspect into account, but just how putting cloaking snipers in a shooter is well, madness. Long range in this is pretty much 50 meters or more with extreme ranges being around 300 meters (A to B on Torias) Two of those are almost purely defensive. The 3rd is "rabble rabble stalker bolter rabble" (still want the scope to be bolted onto that thing and not removable). All of which can you see that red "This guy way out here, he probably has some kind of long range weapon" icon. Spotting a cloaked Eldar in a cap room? Yeah, spotting is possible there. Spotting a cloaked guy at 50m+? Edit: Also for the constant "MUH HQ UNIT", Wolf Priests.
Not really, planetside had invisible snipers. But besides that, you dont need to make them cloak, i think eldar players would be plenty happy just to have a long range class.
Not in the slightest because I know it's going to be a half assed piece of crap with existing models thrown together in an attempt to look like an Autarch, lacking any and all cloth related things or the strength that an Autarch should actually be at.
I am looking forward to it, but I'd prefer that it wasn't locked into one playstyle. From what I'm reading, half the point of the character type is its versatility.
For ec autarch=elite ranger=elite for tt autarch=hq ranger=troop Pretty match elite in the game is catchphrase for skins for veterans, q&a was from 28/04/2017 btw.
Apparently they actually sold the Autarch as a Warlord but now he's an elite, big difference, it's why you can't make the Wolf Priest counter argument, it was literally sold as the Warlord and then changed, I can see why people are pissed, it's like me buying a double cheese burger and instead I get a happy meal, it's not exactly what I bought.
Yeah they pretty much scrapped entire warlords system, there was supposed to be free autarch and rtc autarch but now its gone and we just got elites™
I am not too deep into Eldar lore, so correct me if i am wrong, but isn't an Autarch something verry special? Something you see once on a battlefield? I mean, i get it, Burning Legionaires are even more scare as they appear when they think it's time or whatever, still if they do, they appear as a whole combat unit. So it's not uncommon to see more of them Kommandos are not that rare i guess, fight some bloodaxes and you can be sure some of that barrels and "Not an ork" signs may be sneaky orks. Possessed Marines are not that uncommon, dpeneds on the warband of course, but still possession is considered a great gift that almost everyone tries to ascend to in the ranks of chaos. Again, nothing you wouldn't see in groups. And then we have an Autarch... Isn't he like a commander of a whole Eldar Force? Something like a Chaos-Lord or a Force-Commander? And how will they justify having more then one commander on the field at once? I think if Jain Zar herself would lead the attack, i would totally get it if she collects Autarchs around her, but i don't think this will happen in EC. And after that, look at his equipment? No wings? No mandi-blasters? I mean, da fuq? Isn't the whole deal about autarchs that they combine aspect-shrines in their combat style? Dunno, swooping Banshee or Striking Avenger style, whatever. I should have the freedom to choose whatever the heck i want when i play autarch, or? It's especially hard to understand that move when you could on the other hand have Rangers, not only needed, with assets allready there (Stalker-Bolter a little pimped in damage, less fire-rate, stealth) and they say "but we dunt can cloth physics!" when what they did with dark-angel robes would allready be more then enough to make a decent ranger Model?! What's really going on here? I'd like to know!
Autarchs are Eldar who have completed multiple Paths of the Warrior. I think at least 3. They act as military commanders of a Craftworld's forces. In regards to loadout, they have access to everything a base Aspect Warrior can take, from Jetbikes to Reaper Launchers. Rangers weren't scrapped for that reason, they were scrapped because "cloth too hard."
