I've never mentioned WoW, never played nor been interested in playing it, I think you're mistaking my comments about skill banks and looking at combat systems and thinking I'm looking for some form of PvE RPG. I know it's going to be an action based MMO, that's the whole point, I'm just hoping it's going to have a bit more depth than equip your gun and hold down a button to fire it with you swivel your mouse to aim you gun. I'm also hoping that close combat is going to be more than single clicking a mouse button to time your swings while running round using mouse look. I was playing that style of FPS combat back in the the late 1990s.
I played on PC, My problem wasn't who I was playing with it was more that the gameplay was rather bland for any kind of competitive multiplayer.
I hope they move away from this or the game will end up with 150-200 fans left playing it in a year. (Source:SteamCharts.com)
What i am saying is, if the core or the other parts were more fulfilling people would stick around. People here have a point. Its not a good idea to build anything top of just swivel and shoot.
Space Marine was definitely a single player game. The multiplayer's system was atrocious. IN THE GRIM DARKNESS OF THE FAR FUTURE, THERE IS ONLY MIGRATING TO NEW HOST.
qoute" you forgot dreadnaught" quote... this was osmewhere up there a ways but i clicked reply on the wrong one lol but this is what i have to say to Dreadnaughts They need to make the dreadnaughts spawn randomly upon player death like they were entombed in a dreadnaught to revive thier wounds and once thier wounds have healed they come out of it.
He's talking about the combat controls, the same as I was. If it's simply a case of selecting your gear, scrolling through your weapons and only having one button to attack, one to reload and one to throw a grenade it will get old quickly. I don't know exactly how the combat should work, nor what it should be but it needs to be more interactive than that. When armed with a range weapon you should be able to shoot, kick, attack with the but of you gun or a bayonet, barrel roll, short burst fire, long burst fire, single shot. Grenades should be able to be thrown, rolled, dropped in place, triggered at point blank. Melee combat should involve 2 different skill sets for duel wielding and 2 handed weapons, including dodging, blocking, reposts, parries, a mix of pistol fire with sword work (as per 40k lore). And they need to be individually keyed skills so players can actually fight and play, the more skilled the player the better he/she does. Melee shouldn't be running in circles, swinging your sword trying to hit your opponent more then he hits you by breaking line of sight, the weapons never connecting. Also there should be combat physics involved with the explosions and characters should be solid, no running through someone to hit them in the back.
It's confirmed that characters are 'solid'. As for the melee running in circles.... that's how real fights are fought. It's always to oppoenents circling eachother (if there is room), looking for that opening or mistake while tossing out strike and blocks. It's why school kids form in a circle around others when a fight starts, it's why the Otagon in MMA is an octagon. It's how you fight melee. Now, Olympic fencing doesn't include any of that, but sca Light Weapons (rapier, foil, etc) does. I agree on all the other points though.
I always though they took the Darksiders 1 and its some parts and just pasted on Space Marine with assets and things.
