It can be used as close shot gun or as a guy or two that can cover/keep Devs down on def matches or forts but involves working in a team but in normal matches it's just gaining for kills as SB,PG or normal bolter is better for taking and holding a point
Marines confirmed tau now. I've been playing since beta. This is a terrible first impression for a free to play game. Before this patch it was a lot better. The point of being a tactical is shooting a melee opponent, weakening them, and then finishing them in close combat. Not killing them before they can even cross half a room and never even switching to your pistol. You're supposed to be able to switch from melee to shooting easily. Increase time to kill. Nerf the crap outta the stalker and storm bolter. (Autocannon has already been nerfed to the ground already, quit your yapping loyalist pups) 100+ players have stopped playing the game because of the recent patch. I'll come back and play when ya'll have stopped trying to be a tactical shooter. Its 40k. Make a 40k game, not call of duty. Listen to your fanbase, and ignore the morons wanting their tactical shooter 1 shot kill game.
100+ players eh? Got stats for that? Also a tact is supposed to shoot a melee and try to kill them from range not injure them and go for knife combat which is last resort not 2nd option. If you say it is what tacts are supposed to do then I counter with melee are supposed to use melee to close distance injure tacts and then finish them off with pistols or warp powers. Ttk dose need to be increased and the stalker changed but idk for SB (also auto cannon has been balanced not nerfed to ground just like melee has been nerfed a big too much and not it's totally unplayable)

The context of this post that you clearly missed was in response to this false claim: "Reminder that you can Dbash someone and you auto-win if you're any ranged weapon user, because you can blast them from 100-0 in the duration of the bash with literally any weapon." Since you clearly didn't actually read anything leading up to the post that you quoted, i'll fill you in. I said that's false and only applies to Tacticals, as Devastators have a short dbash and a long prep time on their weapons. Mr. I Can't Read Good replied saying that if I can't shoot someone to death after a dbash as a Devastator then I'm just bad. There, you're all caught up. As for the Krak Grenade, you're aware that rolling makes grenades fall off, right? You're also aware that Krak grenades have a lengthy fuse, right? Krak suicide only works on oblivious players.

This is a straight up lie. If anyone with a melee weapon simply spams fast attacks at a Devastator they cannot win that fight. It is physically impossible to fire a heavy weapon, with the exception of the Plasma Cannon as it has no set up time, after a successful dbash before you are hit with another fast attack and your set up is interrupted. Heavy weapons dbash stun is significantly shorter than that of other classes and they have a long set up time on their weapons.
