Are Orks supposed to feel clunky or unresponsive?

For the first time in a long while, I logged in to play on Orks, and for the short while that I was able to stay connected in game, I noticed something very unsettling.

Orks just don't 'feel' right. They seem to be unable to make good use of cover, their animations and movement doesn't 'flow' (not in the sense of hulking brutes should be graceful, but the fact that they just seem half-assed) and functionally they don't seem to accept inputs readily.

I know Orks are lmao I2 melee race so they're not the quickest bunch but these don't seem like design decisions, it feels like poorly executed code that lags after it's compiled.

Is this the case for other players?

They appeared to be that way when I played my Ork character last, kind of like how LSM, CSM felt in their early days. They worked but they need a tune up/polishing.

Yes, this has been apparent for all ork players ever since the faction was released (they were pushed out the door just shortly before release).

Lack of general polish. Lack of care to refine as Orks are a contender for the smallest faction in the game by a long shot. The Painboy doesn't have an evade-attack, something which literally everyone else has.

Orks play like garbage, but the roleplaying with others who suffer your pain makes up for it.

Camera placement and animation transitions are the top culprits here.

It's entirely possible to lose track of the enemy you're shooting because they enter the blind spot behind the character model, as it is to hover in mid air for a good full second when attempting to jump over railing.

Everyone knows how unhappy I am at this point... It's not just our animations that are clunky and unresponsive... Check out our weapons.... That's right.. Our shoota/big shoota/rokkit all share the same exact base... As does every one of our melee weapons excluding the klaw and 'urty syringe..

Everything the orks have are generally unpolished, clunky and as a whole very disheartening to point out... It's the reason I've been so salty since we haven't gotten any polish for months. The last thing they changed was made it so our melee heavy attack is easier to spot by everyone else....

As far as us being a melee race... Most of our melee weapons are as slow as a klaw/fist meaning we really only have choppa blade/chain choppa and power klaw... The rest just isn't worth using due to the speed.

In general though yea... We're super unpolished with 0 love given by the devs and still missing 2 base weapon types.

At least we can reload out kannon while braced finally.

    Very true lol.

The joke about 'lmao I2 melee race' is a reference to how Orks are supposed to be a melee horde army, but strike at the same initiative (read: turn order) as Tau. Who are literally the worst melee fighters in the game outside of the MC Battlesuits units (who also suck in melee but have S6/AP2 attacks so they're pretty fucking terrifying).

This means that your 15 boys will hit after 10-30 Imperial Guardsmen have their 12-36 attacks thinning your herd by on average 25% before you even strike blows. That also doesn't factor in Overwatch.
