Lol yea too many 90s to think about now . I love Warhammer 40K but haven't played it since 5th edition due to GWs rip off policy, so hopefully this will be a good replacement!
Just the way they market their products and their pricing strategy. I started playing in the good old days before GW went PLC, prices were reasonable and the products were designed to make a good game rather than pure cash generation.

Well, I do not think Orks are portrayed as the worst race. It's what the people make out of it because being one o' da boyz is free. The game will be skillbased and each class will have its own strengths and weaknesses. Overcome your weakness by playing to your strengths and you know what you can and can't do. The basic boy is supposed to be good in melee. Learn how to get close to your enemy without being shot to ribbons and unleash dat orky powah! It looks like basic space marines will be able to handle themselves in melee but aren't their strengths. That's where you can pin em down on. Just be wary of assault marines, I guess
