As the grav weapons don't have a headshot multiplier, you can just keep the beam on your target's torso.
Good to know. I did try it a bit yesterday with some limited success, it's funny how much the other team will hate you and I kept having JPA desperate to kill me. I had my wing man and it was fun but I was left thinking if I just had a bolter it might have been better anyway. What's the goldy one I've seen? Does it do more damage? Great pwnage videos too but see how much easier it looks wit the bolter.
Grav cannon with the 10% damage mod and the recoil mod can out DPS tactical equivalents. Grav gun does less damage than the modded tactical weaps, but with the damage and recoil mod it is still utilitarian and hard counters melee. Combined with the slow, it's quite strong. Have you unlocked the damage mod yet? It increases the grav gun DPS by 5% and Grav Cannon DPS by 10%. The recoil mods are in a 12k box and the damage mods are in 30k boxes.
Just opened another box and realized the grav gun damage mods have two tiers. The first one increases the damage by 5%, the other one increases the damage by 10%. So there is presumably a damage mod for the regular grav gun that increases it's DPS by 10%. E.G. it should do 99 DPS when fully modded. The mod itself costs 40 LP. Recoil mod costs 10 LP. So basically, nothing.
Just unlocked the second damage mod for the grav gun. 99 DPS against infantry. 198 DPS against vehicles. It says 1.5% heat generation per shot. Heats up considerably faster than normal but the damage is pronouncedly higher than vanilla and makes the grav much more effective. Total of 10% damage increase. Recoil mod + damage mod on a grav gun is 250 LP. Pretty effective IMO when you consider the versatility and low LP. You could easily make a build with armor and dual-Krak or armor and melta bomb and have points to spare. Master crafted grav gun slightly reduces the heat generation to 1.42% when modded.
