granted, this is the best support class. granted, it can equip the normal iron halo. but it can't take relic armour and it's special iron halo. why would i ever take this version of the halo, since it gives me less toughness for some hp?
Flat numbers save from stuff like melta. Those things burn you disregarding the toughness completely, so flat numbers are helpful in cases like that. But in general, some halos are really not worth it. And by "some" I mean all the flat number only ones, like apo and GA. ARD and toughness halos are better if you are into them. Hell, even simple halos are mostly doing allright for it's cost.
While this is true, isn't it also impossible for a Veteran Apothecary to take both it's class specific Halo and the top tier Armour?
One thread I saw lists the Wolf Priest's Halo as 730LP. Not sure if the Apothecary one costs more or less, currently at work so I can't check. I know that the base gear costs 400LP (Pistol, primary weapon, class tool and vial) and I think the higher tier Armour is also 400. That'd put a survivability built at 1530LP Can anyone confirm the LP costs?
I can confirm the LP cost for Tactical and Ground assault iron halos to respectivly 590 LP and 740 LP. I will not be surprised to hear that the apothecary Iron halo is around the second one.
Top tier "Halo" or equivalent for each class Wolf Priest Iron Halo is 730 LP. Ork Slugga Iron Halo is 620 LP Traitor Sigil of Nurlge is 570 LP. Only my Wolf Priest Veteran I cannot even quip the Iron Halo and Artificer armour because it puts me over 1400 LP. That's WITHOUT any type of healing station and ZERO other wargear or upgrades. That's so broken it's beyond the pale.
Is the LP cost the same for the Apothecary as well as Wolf Priest? If so, price cost needs to be dropped to between 500-600LP. That or let Apothecary/Wolf Priest drop their Primary completely to save 200LP.
