it MAY or may not kill the target 1 bullet faster, personally i prefer the drum mag, its cheaper and lets you lay down alot more fire before you need to reload which is super useful when clearing rooms, super useful against orks with their higher EHP so you dont run dry as fast, useful against eldar as you have enough ammo to keep firing if your having a hard time hitting them etc etc. To me Drum is just much more useuful, i honestly cant tell the mg difference between AP and Drum.

Seems kind of weird to me that it doesn't even push to the first tier armor, which I guess is fair for the investment.
Nope its another useless item for most factions. Not enough experience with dire avenger to comment,I just go twin linked and go super soaker 2000 on peoples ass with that class.
You can put it if you have nothing else to put in your loadout but it will not influence a lot. Impulse accelerator reduce your dps, not by much but it's just pay for reduced dps. The lower RoF should influence spread & shit but you wont see any difference. I generally mod my weapons with reduced spread per shot & less movement spread.
