Well if you run with a bunch of lads they will benefit from you drawing all the fire instead of them .. That's how i kinda use my vets mostly.
I'm not talking about the actual Veteran loadouts, they're a poorly implemented gimmick. I'm talking about a new player having basically nothing to customise their character with, so they're playing with a character that probably hasn't even hit the 1000 point LP limit. Comparatively a Level 5 or 6 has access to all the toys including real, physical survivability improvements in the form of armour and wargear that a new player doesn't have. The new player doesn't see anything else to balance this out; their character is empirically worse.
Again, this "empirical difference" is actually fairly miniscule if you consider that the best armor wargear in the game might give you enough armor to survive one or two more bolts, and the most popular weapons in the game are the ones you start off with.
Well, that's one or two more bolts that means you win a one-on-one with an equally competent new player. How is that fair?
Not saying it's a great system, but go play planetside 2, once you've put in a hundred hours or so you can get the basic armor upgrade that gives damage reduction and maybe afford one or two new weapons, for one class. Progression and power creep are just the name of the game these days, without things to grind for people get bored. Veterans, heroes, etc will be much more interesting when/if we ever get a resource system for them, instead of this one life junk. Then you could even make something for lower ranks to spend that resource on, like vehicle presets and such.
Awesome club .. I heard they have even have a salad bar. View: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jo3m2ATiomY
Okay. Firstly, you do have access to all the stuff in the premades. When did you last play this game? Secondly, the premades don't have full-1000 LP loadouts, so even if there was stuff in the premades that you couldn't slot yourself, my point would still be valid.
