Veteran and hero classes just give new players a more awful experience. I think learning the game and advancing the characters is a large enough reward. I feel very dirty when I use veterans, so I rarely use them anymore. (maybe in those 3 vs 10 games lol) I would hate to see them deleted. Maybe make it more of a cosmetic thing rather than a skill buff...
They also give new players something to look up to. Plus its 40k, heroes, veterans and badasses are huge part of it. And its not impossible to kill veteran 1v1 as regular troop, you need to know what you're doing and not be ambushed with your pants down.
Amen, I actually liked facing veterans when I started to the point I almost not using mines to feel that rush again. Srly, there's probably nothing better in this game than winning a 1vs1 against a veteran on equal terms, specially nurgle ones, god it makes my day when I beat one.
To me thats the beauty of 40k. Almsot anything can kill anything, heros are just the guys that live to tell the tale.
Hell no! This is most enjoyable part of the whole game. And they not so powerful. See? LotD die like any other player.
If you try ti kill them in 1v1 you are playing this game wrong. This is a team game. Plus killing them is not that difficult, yesterday i killed 2 vets in a row,one with chainsword, second with krak. Few days before i killed veteran raptor with a knife in a duel. Many died to plasma or lascannon. Whenever i see hero marker, i`m looking forward to a good fight, worth remembering.
A veteran is only worth 1,5 player if we don't take skill in account, it's possible to kill veterans for new players. They die pretty fast anyway because peoples know they are bags of points, so they are shot on sight and their life expentency isn't very high.
