Lucky star any good? I've seen a lot about it, but it just seems...I cant even think of a word to describe it...
It's eccentric and funny, but not for everyone. If you like deep stuff, or action-y stuff, it's not gonna be for you probably, but if you like comedy anime, and it'll stay purely comedy (Example: Nichijou) then you'd probably like Lucky Star. I recommend you at least try the first 3 episodes if you enjoy funny animes.
Lucky Star is a classic among slice of life comedy. It's pretty random (the kind of humour I appreciate most) and full of references to other works, although not on the same level as, say, Hayate no Gotoku or Pani Poni Dash.
Just finished Spice and Wolf, and went in blind. I enjoyed it so much more because of that, definitely would recommend. You have to watch both season, they're both fantastic.
Watched Puella Magi Madoka Magica yesterday with my wife in one run, quite a good anime. Hadn't much of an opinion and kinda only watched it 'on the side' as I was working on my Game Design, but the story and plot is finally more than excellent. Quite a bit typical at the end, but good nonetheless - Also that anime inspired me to re-watch the entire Digimon Tamers series (Digimon 3rd Season basically) Though I really hate what they did in english with all the soundtracks and such... If you are willing to rather watch it in japanese with subtitles or in full-german dub if you understand german, because they keep the soundtrack melody same and just translate the content.
Yeah it's gotta be my favourite this season. The chess game was awesome, and then they outdo themselves with that word chain... I'm currently re watching Durarara (so that makes it my third time, I think). I don't really know how it compares to the light novel (and neither do I care, to be completely honest) but as an anime this is a MASTERPIECE, and a model in storytelling. Everything, from the production to the rhythm of the episodes, is as close to perfection as could be.
