Badassery is expressed on many different levels, animes basically take that and put it on crack

Already mentioned this one earlier, but elfen lied is pretty dark, yet humorous and sad at certain parts

Elfen Lied got so much floral around the parts I read about it, but then I decided to watch it, and I liked it a lot. Some pretty heavy stuff.

Depends if you like after apocalipse shows. To be honest, I prefer the manga to the anime adaptations. They're not bad but not as good as they could have been.
