This may be me being picky but i feel like it would be a nice feature to add. When someone executes another player and the execution uses a gun should that not take away from the guns ammo? It just makes the most sense. I don't know of course how much work that would be but it wpuld be very awesome and realistic.
And what if you attempt to start an execution without the required number of bullets that the animation would otherwise use? Some of those executions look to use half a magazine and might require the person to reload and then execute. At that point it would just be quicker to use the remaining bullets in the mag to shoot the downed victim. Realistic or not it doesn't sound fun nor does it add anything to the game.
>Raises bolter to execute foul xeno creature >Realize it's empty >shrug >reverse grip on bolter >Club downed eldar into the sweet oblivion of a soulstone >feelsgoodman.jpg
IF Orks believes theres bullets in the gun for an excution. There will be ammo.... But also its a flawed system, As its random execution for now if you use a knife stomp their face in , or Use your bolter. So what you need ammo at all times? Sorry good sir,m I know you want to stomp on my face and crush it, But you do not have the 6 bullets to do such an action, And thusly i crawl away from you
I know that the executions are random but there has to be a way programming wise to make the game understand *player one does not have enough bullets for execution two, default to execution one* It should literally be that easy and to the guy who said it wouldn't add anything to the game...that is false. It would make people more hesitant to run out and execute someone when they know they shouldn't. It would also make for a more encompassing experience because i know if i was in a war and i had the chance to execute a hated foe or put one right in his head and walk away i would have to really think about that choice. Especially if it was an enemy warlord. Like Crioxus also pointed out...what about how cheapened it would make the game feel if you executed someone (with bullets) on an empty mag...what did those bullets just appear there magically for the death of this person...no. Not only is realistic it is only practical. I would post it on the twitch but i am having trouble finding where to post on the twitch (Brain Failing). Tureilim also had a good idea..you could have the failed execution transition into another of the executions. Its really just a matter of coding them correctly to do so. Also no it wouldnt make since for the game to require you to use bullets for a melee execution. That WOULD be awful and id hate that even more than free ammo in your gun.
Still thats just more coding then necessary and time for a computer to think on the fly. IT takes 1 simple code to make the game execute someone, randomly picking 1 of the executions to base off of. Now if we have to add 1 line so the game checks if you have ammo now add the line that says if true you have enough use gun now add 1 line to check if the first check failed and then use RNG to pick another execution It seems simple of 3 added lines, But now times that by a amount of Players that want to execute someone. the number may seem small but on a Shooter every second counts, and unneeded code is not worth it. I mean i yes they can add it and try to make it more efficient but i dont see it useful. Yes it seems odd that without a low mag you can shoot people with half a clip, but i mean it isnt a grand thing that destroys the game if they have it like so. I mean if they want just get rid of shooting people and move to a easy system of just stomping on their head or something. I mean if i think in the future when Plague marines get added, they cannot be knifed or meleed in any way since that doesnt really work to kill a guy whose flesh is rotting and touching him alone will get you a bad case of the flu.
