Yeah at a glance, the battles already looked larger then space marines. Main point of interest is the drop pod scene were there are just two waves of marines firing at each other.
The Trophy Kills weren't bad- you could only do them when an enemy was lowered down to near non-existent health. Now the stealth kills, though were bullshit. I've got Predators out of the air with those executions, or even done them while somebody was facing me at full health. You just don't do directional based executions when there's a potential for lag. It's asking for trouble. (Or how you could even lag OUT of them.) The first thing that caught my eye was the helmet variation for Chaos. About damn time. I got sick and tired of going through DOW II and Space Marine with relic completely forgetting what Chaos Space Marine armor even bloody looked like! I just hope they'll be some of that sweet armor from the Dark Vengeance Chosen. I am disappointing however by them apparently using the new jump packs for Raptors. Which look terrible. Besides that though, there's not much else, as it's just an alpha. If they stick with the HUD's current health, it'll be helpful though. Having to look up to check your health puts you more at risk than focusing on the bottom left corner of the HUD.
The execution for sure! I love that they added that element to kills; makes it feel more like 40k! I will love it when I will be able to just brutalise someone with my big choppa!
The Space Marine Chaos Armor didn't even make sense. The major famed helmets and opened masks were no-where to be found. All the helmets save Daemon Armor were simply mutated Aquilla helmets. It's like Relic completely forgot that Chaos Space Marine armor is largely made up of MK IV Maximus, MK V 'Heresy', and MK VI 'Corvus'. Aquila comes in as trophies or marines newly turned to Chaos. They shouldn't have all that armor. Plus, I have no idea what the hell Relic did to my beloved beakies in Space Marine. The helmet isn't smushed.
Yes, the helmet. They have never looked like that. The beak always sticks out at 90 degree angle from the head- or has a slight downwards curve. The Corvus Helmet in Space Marine looks like the Astartes was bashing his head against an admantanium bulkhead for an hour.
