No idea if that was suggested before, but what if Orks could ride on top of their vehicles? The way it works is that there are some specific spots on the vehicle armor that you can occupy by entering the vehicle and choosing this passenger slot. What it does is give you an ability to use your normal weapons and grenades, while also making you vulnerable to enemy fire(meaning that if you sit on the vehicle, you can be killed with anti-infantry weapons). This can potentially give Ork vehicles more firepower(imagine Ork transport ram into the enemy vehicle, with Orks sitting on it throwing bombs), while fitting Orks lore-wise.
The issue is the time it would take to make this, as well as actual modeling customized orks on top of the vehicle instead of just teleporting or making their models invisible.
I'm pretty sad orks don't have their open topped transports. What you've described is how orks roll in the tabletop.
Well I already do this on JPA / Raptor, and occasionally ground based classes if I plan my jump right. As to weather that's a feature or not or just a happy coincidence whose to say. I'm sure Orks will be able to do the same. But to actually implement outdoor seating arrangements for Orks on their vehicles, hanging off the sides waving their guns and choppas everywhere would be awesome.
thered be a problem with the turrents lines of fire ... often I can kill a JPA who lands on my turrent by rotating the weapon and simply shooting them as they sit atop the vehicle .... same would occur to any freindlies who happen to be atop the vehicle as well if they intersected the weapons fields of fire
We're talking about Orks here, I don't see it as a significant problem. After all, Orks that climb a moving vehicle have a deathwish. This can also be a nice little drawback that prevents a vehicle full of Orks from being too OP.
... Uuuh... Hmmm... Well painboys can rip off all your limbs and body parts, throw them on top, and assemble you again!
