Aim Cursor Jumps about 'locking to objects'

This happens when scoped in even if you have no obstacles around you, the reticule just jumps and sticks to the edges of things off in the distance.

I've noticed other targeting issues too. Like having full view of an enemy standing still in an opening such as a large window or doorway and not being able to shoot them. Often the reticule won't even turn red and while you can fire shots that look like they're hits they simply don't register. It doesn't seem related to latency or packet loss at all. Seems to happen more often with the autocannon than other weapons for some reason. Maybe something to do with the origin point of the weapon's fire.
  2. Yeah, it's garbage and I hope they look at it. Sure it works 95% of the time, but the 5% of the time when someone can shoot you and you can't shoot back because the cursor can't fucking decide where it's pointed is super obnoxious. And I swear, some players have figured out spots on the map where this happens because I keep running into people who are sitting in that 5% spot that makes them harder to hit.

Might also explain why the Lascannon is a piece of shit at maximum range than misses 50% of its shots even though it says you're on target.

The jumping reticule is bad game design, it will always be bad game design.

Cue the usual crowd explaining why it's totally legit. It isn't. It is counterintuitive and thoroughly unhelpful.

All the supposed problems it solves could have been solved without making the reticule jump. It would have required more effort on the part of the development team and perhaps they had to make do with what they had (when the game switched from its original vision to this salvaged version). So instead we have the clumsiest of solutions that has zero benefit to the player in the heat of combat.

I wouldn't put it anywhere near the top of the list of things to be fixed, but I do wish someone had nixed the idea before it was ever implemented. Hindsight is 20/20.

I used my amazing Photoshop (a.k.a MSPaint because I did it at work) skills to explain what's going on.

I do actually agree. But that doesn't make it broken or a bug or glitch: it's working as intended.

Yeah, I re-read your comment where it was quoted above mine and realised I'd misunderstood. Ah well, the image is handy anyway.
  7. How does it account for turrets though? I suppose the camera is secretly off-center by some amount but it doesn't look it. And how does it manage to happen when you're zooming? Like I said, I think it overly, generously interprets bounding boxes because they're rather you don't get to shoot than risk seeing ANY shots go through solid objects.

And then I continue to get melta'd through the side of a box......

Logically you shoot bullets out of your gun therefore in a third person shooter that's impossible.

    You trolling or just dumb?

    1. Read what you quoted. It is about human physiology. You are not a human being?
    2. Commonly reticle is a players' "line of sight" indicator. It is intuitively and handy. Game points the gun at specified point in space.
Actually, it is already implemented in most of third person shooters.

You weren't quoting anyone last time I checked!

Now you are just being confusing, whatever you meant it sounded like you were saying bullets should go out of your camera, now you're... talking about things... and basically agreeing with the fact bullets should go through the gun again
