"You are the best Mr. Franklin!" Wolfgang announced loudly and grabbed an Onion ring quickly, only to feel it's grease burning at his hands, he juggled it from hand to hand, blowing at it furiously until it was at an edible temperature, at which he then started to devour the yummyness of the ring-shaped delicatesse.
"You know", Percy began, dipping a chip in the delicious garlic sauce, "if I didn't just tell him what we're up to, I'd be wondering what he thinks we'll do. Have you seen that look? Scary." The young woman did not waste time with eating, devouring the food faster and less ladylike than she should in front of the more elegant foreigner. "It's kinda impolite not to wait for Allie, though?", she asked, already half through her chips. She'd always leave the burger for last - since it was the proverbial best.
Quickly sitting down at the table with her friends, Alicia didn't waste a moment to start on her onion rings and enjoyed the first bite as much as she enjoyed the first bite of the onion rings when she started coming here. Replying to Percy, she said "Well, it kinda serves me right for forgetting about this." Taking a moment to wolf down a second onion ring before saying "So, who wants to guess how many beta players will be on as soon as Agents Temporalis launches?"
"I would pretty much guess all few thousands. I am just glad it's an instanced game, you know like Guild Wars had been. Imagine hundreds of people influencing the flow of time at the same time! It would be one huge clusterfuck in the matter of milliseconds." He laughed, dipping one of the Onion Rings in the marinara-dip before taking a munch out of it.
"At least four", Percy replied between two onion rings hastily shoved into her hungering maw. "Hi, Ally, by the way." Momentarily pleased, now that she had half-ravaged her meal, and there was nothing but a lonely, and likely frightened, burger left, she kept quiet as Wolfgang talked, thinking about the way he ordered the onion-based snack. Persefoni wondered whether there was an intentional subtext. It almost took priority over the game in her head. Realizing it did, she banished the thought. Percy took her burger into her hands, ready to end its misery. "Guild Wars? You and your oldies. But there's still hundreds of people simultaneously in the timestream, no? Just in different times? Wouldn't that mess it up even more?"
"I believe you can actually choose the mission and the flow of time you want. They only said through surprisingly many investors they were capable of adding branching storylines. Go figure how that will work." Wolfgang shrugged and finished the last onion ring for now - the burger being waaaay too irresistible right now.
"Hey, Lucy, you're Bill Nye Computer Guy here, you tell us!", chuckled Persefoni with a mouth full of delicious spicy dad-burger. It was a miracle she wasn't morbidly obese at this point, but her father running this restaurant had always insisted on her and her other father watching their weight at all times. "What I know though, is that it's going to be huge, and if we're lucky, super fun."
"well" as she spoke she took a gulp of coffe and then looked at them "if anything if we play iron men characters it should be very fun" as she said this she laughed under her breath "though it all depends if we do things like normal or someone else joins me on the frontline"
With Wolfgang having allayed any worry over any launch day server crashes, Alicia kept on devouring her onion rings, and quite soon had managed to go through half of them. However when Lucy raised the point of Iron Man characters, she interjected with "Well, actually I'm not planning to run an iron man character, even if it means I'm gonna lag behind in levels, cause then I can survive mistakes that would make an iron man player start rolling up another character."
