lol ditto. Predator shooting up my spawn? I could go fire dragon. But I'll be running at that sucker with an Executioner Every. Single. Time.
  2. Sadly these kind of tactics will make it very hard to be competitive.
    Chaplain-Valerius and So-Kiel like this.

Yeah this isn't going to be like WoW where you select a class and you see that through until you make a new character, you'll be able to adapt to what's needed on the battlefield...or not if you have a favourite that you want to role. (I'll personally almost always be Avenger/Scorpion).

Saying that they've said that things like hero classes and some weapons will have to be unlocked through play, even the ones we can buy now, so they may have a 'Kill 500 players with melee' type unlock system which means your preferred playstyle would unlock certain equipment/Heroes before others.
  4. I would hope they take the Eldar NEED to have more class changes into account for stuff like this.

Ya there is really not much info on character classes and gear loadouts for you to make any decision on what classes you want to focus on to improve.

Many have favorite aspects they like which they will want to focus on more to get their unlocks but sometimes it just wouldn't be prudent to pick for some battles.

The thing about Eldar being specialists and having so many more classes with more limited scope of role, they will require greater amount of teamwork to be equally competitive to the other factions.

So on the whole Eldar pugs will experience greater frustration than any other faction because of greater amount of teamwork needed which is non existant in most pugs, Eldar in comparison to Marines are lower health/armor so you will also die easier on top.

So I am guessing you will see a large divide in skill, majority will be on the low end getting pwned, and the few skilled that can make it work. But without teamwork the odds are stacked against the skilled as well.

Just my predictions of how it will be, and it is how I expect the game to turn out as well as it represents.

I honestly don't see where this "eldar need more teamwork because classes are specialised" business is coming from. It's not as if the SM or Orks can carry their full array of weapons available to that class, they are going to be restricted as much as the eldar when it comes to field loadouts.
    EG
Long range AT = D.Reaper/Devastator with Lascannon
    Short range AT = F.Dragon/Devastator with multi-melta

This also discounts some of the unique benefits that the eldar classes provide. The SM's don't get a powerful ranged weapon for their jump troops but the eldar have the S.Hawks, they don't have any stealth focused classes (yet, no word on scouts), butt the eldar get the S.Scorpions. There is nothing the SM's get that the eldar don't have some form of, so don't stress about the class specialisation because it'll probably work out in the eldar's favour ;)

I am over emphasizing the weakness from the TT and RTS games wheres in a FPS style game those same aspects as you mentioned won't show up as not everyone is carrying all options.

You mentioned jump class with power ranged weapon, I am guessing you mean it is a stronger full weapon compared the other jump troops that have only pistol for ranged and not omg the hawk has a fusion gun.

Because Lasblaster is pretty weak and it might do less damage than bolt/plasma pistol but higher rof.

One of the videos the dev mentioned that the Hawks most definitely be swooping, indicating that they will have good reason to 'ground pound' which makes me think they will be given melee weapon automatically and expected to do more melee. What do you guys think?
