Heres a good tip for noobs... STOP SHOOTING AT ME!
If a melee unit is watching the back door and confronts a melee opponent unit there's no need to shoot the ally in the back! It may seem like a good idea at the time (for some odd reason) but it really doesn't help matters at all.

    Great post OP.

Strategy is irrelevant and unnecessary when 80% of LSM games are 2v1 until the game is already over. If you're still losing despite the massive advantage when the teams eventually do even out 10 minutes later, no amount of strategy will help you.

I'll politely disagree with you on that, I pulled off a couple of wins with eldar against LSM this last week with half their numbers. Force concentration, team composition, and strong deployment habits won those matches, not "mad skillz." Had LSM followed some basic force org and kept mobile they could have countered.

You're missing my point. My point is that when, as LSM, you by default outnumber your opponenets 2v1 in most cases, the burden of outplaying is on the other faction. Everyone else has to be that much better to compensate for the game not giving fair matches player count wise. LSM can ride most games to victory without much thought or strategy because neither are usually necessary when the numbers are so heavily in your favor.

As a result, this is probably why LSM think every other race is OP compared to them, because they often see the other races forced to 1v2 or 1v3 and the players that stick with it are probably getting pretty good at it. So when 3 marines get trounced by a good player, they assume its because the race is OP, not that the player is that fundamentally that much better than the LSM who keep coasting to victories. The other players playing the other races are constantly forced into situations where they must play better keep the match competitive, whereas marines are rarely put into dire situations from the start.

This applies to your point as well on a group level about good tactics overcoming player deficits, since we're constantly in the aforementioned situations, players adapt and get better about exploiting poor map movement, predicting responses on a team level, and in general working together out of necessity to win.

This is also evidenced that LSM are usually seen complaining about newer players, as the newbies aren't put into bad situations often and have gotten used to doing their own thing and still winning. Thus they learn good habits for slower, if at all.

Also your tactics you mentioned before would make the Eldar proud I'm sure. +1 WH40k lore points. *INSERT LORE ACCURATE ELDAR COMMENT ABOUT SUPERIORITY* (I don't know crap about Eldar myself)

Well in that case I did I did misunderstand your point, and I apologize.

But I think it's important to bring everyone (from all factions, and all play levels) up to the same understanding of gameplay. This is a game that has depth beyond the surface, and it's important to cultivate in new players an understanding of the possibilities. As someone who's not strongly tied to any one faction, I try to spread as much meta as possible, as much to have useful allies as to have challenging opponents.

Also I will say this, the Eldar community may be small, but they fostered a level of tactical play early within their community and it showed. As annoying as eldar might be to play against, I think the greatest deterrence players face is the coordination eldar bring with them, and that's a barrier I'd like to see brought down. When Eldar say "L2P" it's not about accuracy, reaction time, twitch response, ADS, or ping, it's about team composition and assault strategies.

Players who spawn a Predator and use it as a taxi (abandoning it when they get to where they want) deserve to be BLAMMED.

Also, if you want to help an ally engaged in melee, switch to your pistol (I love using the Smart Bolt Pistol), close in and shoot from the enemy's side or rear.

Really I'll blame on my own squad leader and their team... every time I managed to spawn me a predator and use shortcut "GET ON" message to my own squad which are just respawn next to my predator... they... [cough] walk! Yeah walk all the way to objective from redeploy zone! I had to follow them because there are risk to crush them with my tank shock... then finally arrive at objective.. guess what, they all die!

Only me and a predator around me against hoards of traitor marine respawn from their transporter.. I had to leave my predator! There are no chance for me to switch between driver and use turret while there are enough assault C:SM around me. No chance! I flee with my jet pack to top of building where nobody can reach me... unless they are weld jetpack of course.
