"Yes Magos." Sir Law shook his head that all melee able people are heading into the crator. Only ranged oriented of the bunch are in the rear. So back up was going to be limited but he couldn't deny it might still work. Besides he was one if the lower ranking despite his extreme experience in the warfare arena.
  2. Kaddrak, kept his silence prevelant as usual, he was more used to work with like minded secutors, his kind where tough, armoured, brave and merciless, so for now, he follow Lukas, the only one to start braving the crater.
And guessing from all the smoke, not even the arch nemesis would desire such a landing, that would be strange even by their standards.
he kept his ready, it could just be a trap, but then the ambushers would be dealt with in kind.
  3. Through their augmentation enhanced sight both the Magos and Ranger Alpha were able to make out the outline of a severely damaged Devourer dropship. Though the thermal several dots light up showing a plethora of fires still raging with in the craft but nothing living could be detected how ever motion scanners picked up several contacts of normal human size and several more that strangely enough seemed to be slithering. The scans couldn't determine exactly what was in the craft but it was obvious they weren't truly human or at least not anymore.
  4. Alduwin kept close to the Mago and his mechanical servants as they advance into the smoke shrouded Crater. He couldn't see anything and the only thing he heard was the cracking and groaning of metal cooling down from burning reentry into atmosphere and the crackling of fires. "Could have anything even survive this incident Lord Magos?" Alduwin asked the techpriest in a hushed town. His powersword was kept pointing down at the ground while holding the bolt pistol up and ready to snap a shot at the first target he could see.

As the steep incline of the crater began to level out, Judarius could finally make out the shape of the nearest crashed dropship. It was gargantuan, making his own shuttle look like a child's toy in comparison. Thankfully, it appeared that the defensive weapons were inoperable, or at the very least deactivated. Overall it was still mostly intact but had several obvious hull breaches that would have been the death of any living occupant due to the violent decompression.

Judarius knew better though, as he highly doubted that any of the signatures he was detecting inside met the requirements to be considered "alive".

Ahead of him, Engineseer Brecher and Secutor Kaddrak were closing in. They would need to exercise extreme caution, as the reduced visibility provided the perfect concealment for an ambush. As it was, Judarius felt terribly exposed. He could practically feel the targeting imagers locking on to his signature. Being in the shadow of such a vessel did nothing to settle his unease.

[Brother Brecher, Secutor Kaddrak, hold for now] Judarius warned over their shared vox net. [I detect multiple potential targets within that ship. Exercise extreme caution. I suggest you take up firing positions and wait for me to breech the hull with my Plasma Gun]

With that said, Judarius ordered his Protectors to approach the crashed ship and establish a crude firing line. They did so without hesitation, weapons trained on the disembarkation ramp that was still retracted, albeit it was bent awkwardly, along with the entirety of the external bulkhead.

[Indeed, Knight-Scion, if my optical receptors are to be believed] Judarius admitted readying his Plasma gun. [I suggest you ready yourself, as I will breach a section of the hull and unleash whatever horrors await us inside] @BuriasDempsey

It was the best plan he could devise, as they lacked the necessary heavy weapons to destroy the ship outright. Breaching the hull, then forcing the enemy to exit one by one would allow their Maniple to use the enemy's bulky forms and numbers against them. Unless they made their own holes that is . . . or Omnissiah forbid . . . if any of the vehicles were still serviceable in the cargo hold . . .

    They needed to act quickly.

[SIR LAW] Judarius voxed [We have reached the dropship. It appears that their are still functioning enemy units within. I request that your Rangers move towards the craters edge and support us. I will breach the hull once you report you are in position] @TechCaptain
  6. The Knight nodded in Acknowledgement as he readied his weapons and watched as the Magos breached the side of the vessel. These survivors must be of hardier stock if they are still a threat after such a landing, or perhaps there were more of those power armor clad machines trapped inside. Either way, there were foes who needed to be spited on his sword in the name of his House and the Imperium and he will not be found wanting.

Daygar swung his ironstrider about getting towards the fromt of the formation and activated his snmoke fuspensers on the lowest setting warming them up for use

As befits one of his station the Magos could detect what Lukas could not. In fact Lukas could barely see beyond his power axe. Stepping carefully he moved to take up position around the Magos as he breached the hull of the ship.

Unsure of the direction to look in, Lukas kept his gaze focused into the mist and the crater watching for the unknown with the sound of a plasma gun and a smoke dispenser warming up crackled in his audio receptors. Lukas knew that despite looking out into the mist the enemy may even behind him, in the ship itself…

Phaeton was already in position when the order from the Magos came in, so his squadron remained, their rifles fixed on where the hull was about to be breached. He was surprised there would be anything left alive in such a crash, and he was concerned with what thye might find. They had already battled possibly sentient constructs. What the frack else did they have i n store for them?

Sir Law acknowledge the Magos orders and had an eyebrow raised at the large drop ship. With a coded burst he signaled his Ranger team to make way around the edge of the crator. " Cover the main group but spead out and provide cover fire as needed." He himself set himself up stationary with overwatch coverage with his large rifle.
