(sorry it took so long to reply long story short I'm at Disney world) @TechCaptain @Keidivh @BuriasDempsey @Mechiaus @GoreWrencha @bossaroo @Nurianis @Grall_Stonefist SIR LAW and his Rangers fired onto the grouped up constructs though most of their initial shots missed or grazed the unfeeling machines even with the help of the Ironstrider's searchlight. However LAW's Omnipex scanned them and confirmed initial suspicions in that these constructs were wholly mechanical and seemingly required no datasmith to control them. As for weakpoints the ussual ones such as joints and the head were illuminated. With this new information his shot was able to punch it's way through the undamaged construct's chest and destroyed the majority of it's inner workings causing it to fall to the ground limp. I was then the Averas and his Ironstrider charged in and managed to strike one of the damaged constructs with the taser lance which caused it to convuls as it's more fragile components melted and burned as the massive amount of current flowed through it. During this charge the Ironstrider itself managed to crush one of the seemingly injured constructs laying upon the ground under it's large feet. Alduwin's bolt pistol fire then managed to finish off one of the damaged constructs as Judarius also discovered further that these constructs were indeed receiving information from the fleet above and sending it back as well but nothing seemed to be taking control of them they simply functioned as is while they constantly send information back to the fleet that had sent them although exactly what was being exchanged he is unable to decode. Phaeton's squad members managed to destroy another damaged construct with their fire and those that were aiming at the undamaged one simply blasted what little remained of it after the other squad had taken it out. Lukas's and Kaddrak's fire destroyed the remaining construct leaving only two heavily damaged ones that were layed in a small group by the dreadclaw the two were missing limbs and are unable to fight back leaving them to the mercy of the maniple. (All hostiles able to fight are destroyed) 2x Heavily damaged unarmed constructs (All player health is at full and since gorewrencha hasn't been on all week just assume he's in the background doing nothing important)
Holstering the bolt pistol, Alduwin stood up from the grass before he walked boldly forward towards all the fallen constructs and vessels. It seemed two were still trying to carry out functions he hand no knowledge of. Under his helm, a look of disgust plastered his face as he looked upon the sigils and markings randomly placed upon the armors of the machines. He unsheathed his powersword but did not activate it yet. "Magos, what do you make of this vile things." he asked as he watched them mewl around on the ground. He had half a mind to just shove the blade into these things and end their pathetic actions.
As Judarius rose from his hunched position in the grass, he was suitably mortified by his findings. These constructs were, as he feared, operating on their own. They required no adept to guide their operations or issue orders. Their commands were issue by the ships in orbit, via a data feed of a complexity he dared not to interpret. Were he not so overcome with dread, he would have been impressed. Even the Mechanicus needed to have Adepts of higher functional authority to issue commands and properly direct the flow of battle for their Skitarii on the ground. In this respect, their fallen counterparts had surpassed them . . . [Do not touch them, Knight-Scion] Judarius warned as he scuttled closer to the crater, the threat neutralized for now. [They are aberrations without equal. Abominable Intelligences. Omnissiah preserve us] [Though I cannot determine the exact level of their independence] he admitted, observing the first of the wrecked units, it's battle plate pitted with holes. [My auguries determined that they were passing a sizable amount of data with their vessels in orbit. I suspect they know our disposition and will likely be prepared for our next encounter] Moving past the nobleman with his brandished power blade, Judarius moved around the crash site, taking picts of the down constructs. He noted the antiquated marks of power armour they had been fashioned from. Cobbled together from numerous suits, but effective none the less. The construction was mostly sound, though the materials were of inferior quality. Likely a byproduct of limited resources. Still, they were impressive. He would need to study one in detail, but only from the safety of a properly warded containment zone. [SIR LAW-98, you should inform the rest of the Battle Congregation of what has transpired. Warn the Maniple to expect harder resistance from this point forwards] he requested, as he pondered what to do. Uttering a command burst, two of Judarius' Protectors moved forwards and selected the most intact construct that had been disabled, but avoided the two that were still partially functional. They slung their weapons and grabbed the warrior's gauntlets and proceeded to drag it away from the crater. Despite their strength, the Protectors struggled to shift the dead weight of the power armour. Judarius would bring it back with them, once the other sites were secured and they returned to Zeta Colony. In the meantime, he would leave one of his Protectors to guard it. As for the other constructs . . . [Suggestion, 98] Judarius pondered aloud. [Pile the constructs together with their ruined pods and destroy them with a meltabomb. If we have no munitions to spare, request air support or artillery to destroy this location. Leave nothing to be salvaged. Such desecration of sacred power armour cannot be tolerated] Crawling out of the crater, Judarius shifted both of his pairs of arms so that he could interlock his hands into the sign of the holy cog. Bowing his head, he intoned a final benediction to honor the machine spirits so brutally perverted by the Dark Mechanicum. It was likely to be the first of many perversions of sacred technology they would encounter.
Alduwin listen purposefully to the magos, wanting to know everything as much as possible about the enemy at hand. His brow furrowed at the possibility these machines were watching him, with their masters able to see through them. "Gentlemen, as our Magos has pointed out, it would seem we need a change of tactics for I would believe they will expect what we have done here at the landing zone." He said to the Rangers as he kept staring at the construct being dragged away, with a nagging sense of being watched now.
Sir Law stayed hidden and rearranged his squad to provide a cordon and surround the site but facing outside. When the magos gave the order though he dutifully relayed the messages to higher appending everything his and his team had observed through augments.
Phaeton let his rifle rest on his shoulder for a moment, with the immediate threat eliminated. While he didn't show it, the fact these may be sentient constucts was deeply disturbing, their very existence an insult to the Omnissiah. "Vela, set up a perimeter, consider any movement outside of it hostile, eliminate with extreme prejudice." The enemy knew where they were, and how they fought, they'd likely be hit if they continue. @BuriasDempsey "Well Sir Alduwin, based on current data I have formulated a few different scenarios that may occur. First is that the enemy is aware of our position, and is en route to engage. Second, they may be gathering their remnants together and fortifying their position. Either way, the next engagement will be much more of a slogfest. I advise we move out immediately."
OOC: @TuskatheDaemonKilla you mistook daygar for Averas . Daygar trodded around the ruined machines " this is alot of tech heresy if only we carried the proper equipment to properly destroy these" he turned to the magos and ranger" Magos and SIR LAW shall i sally forth to search for other constructs so any information they sent to their dark masteres is rendered void "
Though he much rather would have tested the effectiveness of his chordclaw against the neutralisered automatons, but having them taken away for complete destuction was just as well, perhaps a mechanical ortopsy, so that they could get the information on their weaknesses, since they would properbly be seing alot more to these constructs. "indeed we should keep moving, staying active will be key for now, we wouldent want be be surrounded by these constructs, or all the rest of the perversions brought about by the arch nemesis"
Lukas nodded as Kaddrak spoke, and once the secutor had finished Lukas spoke in agreement. “You’re quite right, movement is the key here,” Lukas gestured to the broken automatons discarded across the ground “and assuming our esteemed Magos is correct then the ship in orbit will be aware that we scouring them from the planet and will take defensive measures or scatter their forces to be more difficult to detect. Either way moving quickly would be best.” Lukas began adjusting his servo-arm, it was more like fidgeting rather than anything practical, and said “Shall I begin moving the…" Lukas hesitated as he looked for the words to describe the damaged abominations “…wreckage into a pile ready for demolition, Esteemed Magos?”
Turning away from his examination of the ruined construct that he had ordered dragged away from the crater, Judarius regarded the Engineseer intently. @Nurianis [Affirmative, Enginseer Brecher] he announced, as he scuttled up to his fellow adept. [Ensure to minimize any exposure of your flesh, as I cannot be certain that their plating is not tainted by warp exposure. Furthermore, keep close watch over your data feed inputs, lest your inadvertently inload Scrap-Code] Judarius looked over the crater once more, calculating the time it would take to achieve his desired end state. They would need to hurry and get mobile again. He task his three remaining Protectors to assist Brecher, keeping the last one to guard the fallen construct. Checking his internal chronometer, he realized they were falling behind their time table. [SIR-LAW 98, we should continue with the operation. We expose ourselves to encirclement the longer we remain stationary] he warned. @TechCaptain
